I mean they've always been here. You guys broke into them, remember? [lightly. but they glance back at the room for a moment.]
Um...give me one sec!
[they
slam the door in her face.
she's left waiting for a few seconds, and there are a few bumps and crashes inside before it opens again.]
Okay. You can come in.
[when she enters the room, what she sees first is that it's glowing with some low lighting, enough to see and be comfortable without being overwhelmingly bright. the walls are dark, floors a dark wood and the accent colors are very rich and deep (burgundies, creams, etc.) the king-sized bed is there, piled high with pillows and blankets. there's a window across from the entrance with a window seat, curtains currently open to reveal what looks like a nice, scenic park. two large bookcases are flanking each side of the window, crammed with books. there's a fireplace and a plush reading chair, with a small table to the side of it. there's also a large executive desk against another wall, along with a closet door and a bathroom door.
there's a typewriter on the desk, along with a closed laptop. there are...also a fuckton of papers. like just a buttload of papers in a messy pile, two books stacked on each other next to the typewriter itself. there's a garbage can filled with papers, snack wrappers and soda cans. the office chair is comfy and leather though. there's a vase of flowers in the room, tall and purple and willow-y with a few fresh sunflowers added.
there's a nightstand next to the bed, along with a small shelving unit. there are all sorts of trinkets and items scattered around on these things, and on the walls themselves there are a few framed awards. she can't read what they are. there's also a watercolor of a carbuncle? the nightstand has a star-shaped alarm clock amongst the other stuff. there are drawings taped to the wall.
there's a table with a chess set as well. on the mantle of the fireplace is a steel warrior action figure that lup might find familiar. there are also. dog toys. everywhere. and treats. and a dog bed sits by the chair near the window. there are claw marks in one of the curtains and it seems like it's sliding off a little.
...most notably the room is a mess. there's clothes all over the floor, a few books and random objects scattered, sneakers are kind of kicked into a corner, and given there's a few chess pieces on the floor it's likely that they tripped into it initially.
lup might...notice the room looks very familiar to a room she's been in before, minus the mess and assorted items.]
Hey, I've been really busy. [among other things. but they do kind of kick a few clothes aside and also remove a pillow and a dog toy from one of the chairs so she can have a seat.] And I wasn't expecting guests. I cleaned up what I could.
[she will flop into this chair.] I guess my concern was this was never a thing before, being able to come in here on purpose? Unless it was and I just suck, which is a possibility.
[they shrug and settles on the bed, legs folded in a sort of loose lotus position.]
I don't think it was that. It's just...stuff in the hotel doing whatever it wants. I'd rather know if people are here than hear about it later. [they glance around the room though.] It'll suffice. It feels a little...confining, in a way.
That's a distinct possibility, yeah. Whatever it is, you'll just have to do your best and be as prepared as you possibly can be. And at least your job, hopefully, offers a semblance of security.
[they look at their covers, picking at one of the sheets and picking at it.]
A lot of chaos, probably. Just like every other week. But you'll have to work together if you plan on making it to the end of your term. Things won't be quiet just because it's drawing to a close.
and then she reaches for the flowers, tracing her fingers over the purple ones, and then the sunflowers. maybe it's clear what she wants to ask, but - she can't, and she knows.]
Okay. [that's. all they say? like yes, they knew that.] How does that negate what I said about time almost being over? I never doubted some of you would be stubborn enough to try to figure something out.
... It doesn't. I didn't say it negates it? Hey Gems, are we like, good?
Maybe it's just the mask screwing with me, but I feel like half the time I talk to you anymore I'm having issues with figuring out what your deal is. Are you good? Am I losing my mind?
We're definitely good, Lup. Don't worry about that. It's been a long couple of months for everybody, don't you think? I think people are just starting to focus on the ending and it's taking a lot of time and energy from people. The ending's coming soon, no matter what the outcome actually is.

[oh the door slams. okay, well. she'll wait, and gigglesnort to herself as there's crashing and stuff.
she wanders her way in, and pauses, because... yeah. it does look familiar, and she kind of like, briefly looks very sad. weh.]
Buddy, you need to clean your room. [she says, finally, because it's easier to mom voice than be sad.]

[a pause. a little gently:] I don't think people knew that they were breaking into bedrooms. But I get it.
[...] Must be weird, to be in here.

It's a little odd, but I've grown used to it, I think. It's been my room for quite some time now.

Agreed. [...] You get to go home when this is all over, right?
