[ wELL SHIT. Futaba shrieks as it cuts down into the bone. with rin's added fire and her feeble attempt to yank her arm back (7), this goes as well as you'd expect. which is terribly, congrats to all of us for a job well done. ]
F-forsettao Meiuvat.....!
[ intent is everything and with her arm now mangled, her spell doesn't quite have the effect she was aiming for. her attempted dia slaps a (decently wrapped!) bandaid over this bone cracked wound (8) ]
[It starts struggling to free itself from the wall (6) and fails.
Blue fire (9) wraps around the limb that has Futaba's arm, though it only lasts for a few moments before dispelling. The creature yanks its arm away, but not without trying to take Futaba's arm with it (12).
Shinobu's doing her best. With a roll of 9, the windows darken slightly.
The moon glow from the monster's wounds is slightly more intense. There are several points where the monster seems to shine oddly, even where it isn't injured. Continuing to darken the room may reveal some specific areas that need to be dealt with.
Futaba may have a bandaged wounds, though it's not expertly done.
It screams louder this time, and a little more of your hearing goes with it. It lashes out at Rin (4) with a wing, Shinobu with an arm (10), and Futaba with the same arm (11), then it swings back to hit Shinobu (16).]
[Spots where the monster shines oddly, is it? That's fine, Rin can guess what that means.
First he dodges the wing (18), and then he's pushing himself up to his feet so he can start to move away from Futaba and Shinobu, off towards a part of the room so that they won't get caught up in his idea. He doesn't have a way to darken windows or heal up Futaba, so the best he can do is be front and center to try to distract it.]
Hey ugly! Over here!
[And then he's going to focus his fire on one of those shiny spots (12) to see what happens.]
[ shinobu is going to get hit, and she's going to go down. it gouges her with its talons every time it hits her, the first shallow and on her arm, the second deep and on her abdomen.
she's in too much pain, trying to regain her bearings to do anything else for now. ]
[ given her current -10 disadvantage, futaba also eats shit and stays there. whoo look at the birdies coo around her head. everything just pounds to her heartbeat at this point. ]
Forsettao Meiuvat!!
[ while rin is (hopefully) distracting it, it gives her enough time to gather her wits and direct a splat of squid ink at the nearest shiny spot (14). here's hoping that works as planned!!!!! if it does and given how they're all hecking deaf at this point, maybe she can lead by example. ]
[It only throws a wing down at Shinobu, if it hits it will only bruise her (8).
Because Rin is the one who's yelling, the creature's attention focuses in on him. It swipes at one of his legs, digging it's claws painfully into him (20) and yanks its hand back and away, trying to pull him off balance, with little care if it takes his leg off.
Rin can see the spots where it shines are the chest, stomach and back. Additionally, these are the places where it's bulging grotesquely. With a 12 against a 4, he manages to char it's back. But fire is not how you'd get something out of a body. That's what surgery is for. He does have a blade.
Futaba's ink hits it squarely in the chest (7), though it doesn't do much to slow it down, some manages to splash up to an eye, blinding it on its left side.]
[I hate that Rin has to be the one to notice these things. But he'll yell out to the others, because this is important information to get out.]
Cut it on the shiny spots! And the weird, bulging spots!
[Rin is down and now his leg is injured too, but he's not giving up yet. He's healed from worse, it's fine. He's going to just throw his knife at the shiny spot on the monster's stomach, trying to use enough force to stick the blade in. Hopefully a 17 is enough to do that.]
[ she is going to try to heal herself (14 i don't know how much advantage she has because of jar), whispering the invocation, and then she is going to rise and get bruised for her troubles.
she rolls out of the way and grabs any sharp decoration or cutlery left behind from the party before lunging for the spots she lit up earlier to very little avail (3). ]
[Shinobu's healing advantage comes in for her, with a 16. The shallow wounds heal over completely, and the deep wounds heal enough so they're only shallow.
The monster cannot dodge (12) away from Rin's knife, and lodges itself there, stuck in the flesh(?) and whatever else is within it, until he pulls it back out again.
Against all odds, Shinobu's attack does land (2), also piercing deep into the monster.
Futaba's attack is incredible, the lacerations cutting easily through the monster's back and chest. Two things drop out of these wounds, hitting the floor with the heavy thunk, thunk of rock.
The monster shrinks in size, now only twice as tall as a human. It's reach has shrunk, and it can no longer attack the party, except Rin, who it dragged close. In a desperation attempt, it slashes at his torso (10).
Shinobu succeeds in blowing up the monster (4). Moonlight spills across the entire room, blinding you all for a moment. You're still hard of hearing, but your eyes work just fine. Where it once stood are now three rocks, lustrous in their glow. The only trace of it is all the damage it's caused to you and to its surroundings.
Futaba can take the stones from the ground with no issue.
While you might not know it at home, here, it's a rare, precious, dangerous stone. Every wizard has heard of it, and knows the curses it brings, even if they've never seen it in person.
Moonstone.
The brown haired young man comes back in, with medical kits and looks very pale looking at the damage that has been done to the group of you.]
[ ok, rin, shinobu is going to try to help and fail. we saw those rolls. somehow, the adrenaline fading after the crow monster bites it combined with her hearing that's half gone make her tired enough to stumble over her invocation.
she turns to the frazzled man with the med kits with a grateful look and reaches for them. ]
If you could lead us to a room to recuperate, I would appreciate it.
[ the moon moon stones will get slipped into a pocket where hopefully none of them forget about it later. in the meantime, with the blood loss and injury she just kinda nods vaguely in agreement to shinobu's words. what is she agreeing to? who knows! not her!
after all, with her 1, futaba loses the battle with conciousness and slumps over ]
[The med kits are now in Shinobu's CYOA inventory.
The man startles and catches Futaba when she begins to fall.
Shinobu will get the sense that he would bow to her if he wasn't currently carrying an unconscious girl. Futaba probably is his max carrying amount. He's just a secretary, he doesn't have muscles or magic.]
Certainly, please follow me.
[He will lead her to a guest room in the castle, with two wide, spacious beds. It's fancy in here, and the desk paper bears the six pointed star emblem that she saw before.]
[ she will do her best to carry rin but also levitate him using magic (11) so he's not being dragged on the floor since she's small and physically not strong in her nerfed state. she will set rin down on a bed. ]
Thank you for your help.... May I ask for your name?
[Rin wakes up just in time to hear that name, but he's going to try and pretend he's still asleep because he does not think he can talk without laughing at that name. He has all the maturity of the 16 years old he is.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Robin. [ this is a western-looking fantasy everything. ] I hope we continue to get along. Do you know anything about the research in the Central Tower?
[ can she do a party heal (16)? they need to be able to move, if this isn't the last of it. ]
Her own wounds have fully healed. Rin and Futaba's worst injuries are now only surface wounds instead of going all the way down to their bones. They should have full movement, but they will retain scars of all the wounds they've sustained so far. They will also have enough energy to rise from their unconscious states.]
You as well.
[Cock Robin frowns and considers what he knows about Central Tower. It's not that he doesn't want to tell you, it's that he's only ever heard some mutterings.]
I think... that's where the Magical Technology Corps do their research. It's where they test machines fueled with mana stones. I'm not sure if they've tried anything else.
