[The dogs can barely hear him at this point, but they do understand help! They rush towards Shinobu and latch onto the skeleton legs and start yanking.
A skeleton skull shatters as Rin hits it squarely in the head. Arms and legs need to go before it'll be rendered fully inert. This skeleton rips the spear out from Shinobu's arm and slashes at Rin's chest (11). The one with a sword tries to stab him from behind (15). A rib sails towards him (11).
As they have finally registered Futaba is no longer in this fight, the other skeletons with bows start trying to bash Shinobu, on her head (19) back (18) and arm (18).
Futaba flies closer to the ruined tower, with no allies by her side. No back up here if she runs into trouble. Roll to see if she's still going the wrong direction.]
[Wow I can't believe Rin dodged those first two attacks with a 16 and a 15! But the third one hits since he only got a 5. Another arrow stuck in him! He's getting sluggish now.]
I'm...not gonna die here...!
[He focuses his incantation on himself and just. Explodes fire out from him. Luckily he got a 16 so he can do it.
[ shinobu goes the fuck down. her mobility is gone for a moment, and now she's going to have a concussion, back bruised, and a broken arm now.
but at least it's the arm that she has no feeling in. I... WILL BE NICE.... FOR ONCE..... ]
This is so....!
[ she doesn't get to finish that thought because she's going to get fire damage from rin, burns on her legs as she scrambles away, and she stumbles, but she is nothing but focus and determination, and she starts imagining burying the skeletons six feet under again and mutters her invocation (14). ]
[ she's going towards the tower......! but the closer she gets, the more her brain stops ping ponging around its cage and it dawns on her that huh, it's uh.... kinda quiet isn't... it....? (13) ]
[The dogs run away in the blast of fire, because they have a preservation instinct, unlike, perhaps, the rest of you. Off they go, far away from the blast zone.
Four of the skeletons are blasted apart by Rin's explosion (20, 18, 13, 7, 6, 2), some bones charring, others being fully burned to ashes. These can no longer even be called half skeletons.
Two are left, one with a spear, and the other with a bow. They try to make attacks towards Rin and Shinobu. Before they manage, Shinobu's incantation and imagination goes into effect.
The two remaining skeletons are have holes appear directly beneath them. Some unseen force pushes them in. It only takes a moment before they're both covered by six feet of dirt.
Gotta go fast, Futaba. In the distance you can see a fiery explosion, but she isn't close enough to see exactly what caused it.]
[ futaba, full of arrows and in a stupid amount of pain does her best to bass boost her broom back to the others, misses her mark by a whole mile, and just crash lands somewhere in the vague distance (7) ]
[The dogs come back and sit next to Rin, awaiting their next orders.
Rin's roll and incantation is enough to heal up the worst of her bruises. Her burns leave behind scars, but they don't hurt as badly anymore. The slashing and piercing wounds on her are shallow instead of deep. Her left arm continues feeling numb.
[The dogs head forward and towards the collapsed tower! They'll bark of they see any monsters.
With a 16, the worst of their wounds are healed up. The skeleton arrow rib bones are removed from their bodies and the wounds are mostly closed up. There is some danger of these reopening if under serious duress, but you won't need stitches for them. For now.
Even so, it isn't complete healing, and it's best to keep things clean, so they don't become infected.
[ to the tower!!
she is going to keep an eye on rin and futaba and see that they are moving okay but also in front and around them, just in case more monsters pop up because of the tower collapsing. ]
Futaba-chan, you have your strengths, but don't think too lightly of what you've done today and what you've yet to do.
[How's the group doing? Are Rin and Futaba moving alright? You tell me where their former injuries were.
It doesn't seem like in this direction any other monsters are showing up.
The group will eventually make it to the base of the tower. With the way the rubble looks, this tower seems like it should've been the height of the castle. There's an opening at the top where they could get in.
Miraculously the door in hasn't fully collapsed, but there's been enough breaking that it opens easily, even if it looks like somebody tried to lock it.]
[Rin's right arm is all scarred up from being fucked up several times, and he's got big claw marks across his chest and several puncture wounds from where all those bone arrows hit him in his shoulders/chest/side. Also his right leg is fucked up too from getting scratched. Those are all mostly healed right now, but he's still got limited mobility in his right arm.
He's going to keep going and test the door to see if they can open it. Also are his doggos here, and are they alerting on anything?]
[ futaba's got the absolute gnarly winged knight scars from earlier, healed bruises from getting tossed not once but twice, a probable concussion, and whatever damage those bone arrows did. poor thing.
speaking of which, she attempts something to Help but wow i guess all that rubble eqates to a shitton of dust cause she just sneezes a garbled incantation (2). ]
[All five dogs are hanging out, tails wagging and glad to see the group. They didn't catch anything.
The door swings right open. Everyone can see these odd blue stones were spilled across the floor. Shinobu, you've seen these before. There are so many of them, at a quick glance it looks like least 50 of them. Even after the way the tower fell, none shattered. Some look like they've been burned through, their luster burned away. Futaba's attempted invocation releases a layer of dust and it's hard to see more without investigating more closely.
Where are you looking, and what are you looking for?]
[Time to pocket 50 stones somehow. Gacha game logic.
After pocketing the stones he'll start looking around for any more of those moon rocks they found before. There's got to be more of those here right? Let's just blame the moon for everything.]
[ does this mean these are all dead wizards....? that's what shinobu's thinking, and she frowns.
before rin picks them up, do the blue stones look like they spilled from a set direction, or are they all scattered with no real care? either way, she will walk further in.
and she wishes for all the dust and rubble to clear for a better look around (13). ]
Try to look for what made the tower to collapse. [ this is what she's actively looking for. ] Okumura-kun, please treat those stones with respect.
[Rin just picks up 50 corpses without knowing anything about the stones.
Shinobu, yes. Every single one of these represents a wizard who was killed in some manner. Wizards can't die of old age. The stones seems to be scattered about the floor. Nobody treated these with care before they got here.
There are documents. One details a machine that's under construction, made to fight the moon and render wizards obsolete. Another is a written account of how they'd killed young wizards for these stones, how much easier it is than trying to fight an accomplished wizard. Another how they thought moonstones could give them power to match wizards. Another saying where there were battles between humans and wizards.
What you see before you is human hubris and envy. Humans who are so jealous of wizards' power they killed for it.]

Rin kind of just sags tiredly there, sighing in relief. The skeletons are gone, they're not going to die, it's okay.
...at least until Rin remembers there's like three bone-arrows sticking out of him, and he accidentally lit Shinobu on fire.]
Shit- sorry! Hold on-
[Incantation time! is a 17 enough to help our poor Shinobu with some healing?]

[ she isn't upset or anything, but she is spending most of her focus on keeping her pain at bay now that the danger is over with (for now). ]
We need to find Futaba-chan and heal and then we can find the tower again.

Futaba's having a hard time. Maybe go get her.]

Okay little guys, I need you to sniff ahead and bark REALLY loud if any other monsters show up, okay?
[He says the incantation too just to make sure it works. Then he'll look back to Shinobu and point over where Futaba crashed.]
I think she crashed over there, think you can walk?
no subject
[ she doesn't really have any wounds on her legs, not anymore, and her gait is smooth as she walks towards where futaba is.
when they reach her, she says her invocation so she can heal both rin and futaba (16). ]
We may try to coordinate next time, although I hope there won't be another fight. When we leave here, will you both allow me to look you over?
[ her concern, even with all these heals, is high. ]

[ that's a tired groan as she sits up. thanks shinobu ]

I guess so. I mean, we're using magic to heal all of this up so it should be fine right?
[It's not like their wounds are going to reopen when they leave the CYOA or anything! wehehe
But yes they can go on to the tower and investigate now.]
