...My biggest observation of you all is that you are a very odd group of people. [ and they do take out a little sheaf of papers. it seems like gemini's not the only note keeper around here. ] But, more than anything, you all seem to do well coming together, despite all circumstances.

I wonder if... it is just a reflection of your previous experiences, or... that these experiences draw those sorts of people.

Ha ha ha... it is a large question - but it is a common practice in courts of nobility in Japan. It is a type of art, just as it is a type of entertainment. Tea is prepared, of course, but with particular attention to context, environment, and guests. It is one of the most noted acts of refinement.
