[ when jiji rings the bell, there's just a moment before a shadow springs up from the floor. out of it steps orion, standing imperious as before - though when they see jiji, they seem somewhat startled, and then, worried. ]
...Mikazuki, your cheek...
[ and they're just going to reach into one of their sleeves and pull out a handkerchief, immediately offering it. ]
Not worried, no - you're skilled enough, but it's not particularly good to wander around freely bleeding. [ but they do seem slightly mollified, taking a step back. ]
I suppose I'm just glad that it wasn't worse. Are you alright, beyond that?
...Unfortunately, not really. That sort of thing only heals with time, or... I suppose with magic, in the form that you're in here.
[ they shake their head. ] But, it's not very severe, so it shouldn't take long. You still - it'd be best to disinfect it, though. Are you familiar with that process?
I am not - but I need not trouble you with details. I may inquire with Shinobu Kocho or another.
[he's not bothered or in a rush]
When you speak of 'magic' - is that something that I might be able to earn? I ask only since in the village, we were able to perform exchanges of tasks for rewards - such as healing.
From what I've learned of her, Miss Kocho would be an excellent choice to help.
[ so, good. ] For now, keep the handkerchief so it doesn't bleed on your silks much more than it already has - applying pressure will at least stop the bleeding.
[ there's a little bit of a smile to their voice, there. at the question, they make a soft noise, thoughtful. ]
I can only advise you to be patient on that front: it must not be surprising that I have few answers for you. [ a beat. ]
...A more personal question, maybe, but - is it strange, being on the other side of something like this?
orion keeps pace with jiji with relative ease, though, and comes to pull out a chair for him when they reach the actual courtyard. ]
...Tired, mostly. [ there's a faint hint of amusement, there. ] Watching you all run around in circles for several hours was exhausting. And then, for it to end the way it did - that certainly didn't make it easier.
[thank you zuko. there's a pause as if they're thinking.]
Mikazuki-san is agreeable, yes, but as I've said to your crane it's your name and therefore should be your preference.
I'm not the one who received an injury, unless you count the psychic damage of today's events. [they pause again before clarifying.] Well enough though, I suppose.
...My biggest observation of you all is that you are a very odd group of people. [ and they do take out a little sheaf of papers. it seems like gemini's not the only note keeper around here. ] But, more than anything, you all seem to do well coming together, despite all circumstances.
I wonder if... it is just a reflection of your previous experiences, or... that these experiences draw those sorts of people.
I do not find names particularly important [like higekiri] but if that is the case, then simply address me as Mikazuki. It will make me feel as though we are friends.
[ he may look! they're just notes, written in neat handwriting. jiji can see a few of the names of the participants, but not much else. ]
... Well, maybe not in that case. [ you can hear the grimace in their voice, there. ] But, I can't fault Mr. Todd for his boundaries, nor can I fault Miss Nonagesimus or Mr. Tealeaf for pressing the issue.
In the end, you all came together, despite your disagreements. I believe everyone was quite united in their worry for you, Mikazuki.
Nine hours is a very tedious length of time for something such as this, especially when there are several people to direct and several personality types that conflict. But this was your first time being a participant rather than a counsel, correct?
