...yes, and no. It seems in keeping with this place, for him to end up forced a second time, but it was not something I anticipated.

...it is never pleasant, but we are not exactly close. The other cases still concern me, as well.

[ they nod a little, reaching under their veil to scrub their face. ]

[ he might be able to tell that they might have something flirty to say to that, normally, but they just make an agreeing noise and nod. ]

.. Someone came and asked me for my last one. A couple of people needed it, from the thing Thursday, and didn't bother to ask. One of their friends came to ask for em. [ they sound apologetic, at least. ] 'm sorry.

[ though, with that, they do gently touch his arm to swallow them up briefly in shadows. they don't really bother with waiting for him to unlock it or anything, and just go directly into emet's room. ]

... well. I don't suppose if you know whether that was all for the week-- though those from Thursday needing them was precisely why I delayed.

they watch him for a long moment as he’s doing this. and then, a little stiffly, they come to sit down with him, easing into the bed. ]

[he's quiet, for a few moments, before:]

You needn't be tense. Are you certain you are all right?

[ …there’s a little bit of a smile in their voice, at least. reassuring. but, they’ll scooch a little closer, then. ] But, hey, if you wanna rub my shoulders for me, I won’t complain.

[he says, rolling his eyes, but he lets them move closer easily enough.]

...is it the results of today that trouble you, then?

[ hehe. a little more familiar humor there, at least for a second. they stay sitting, still fairly stiff backed. ]

The results? I mean, shit, there were three dead people. We can start with that and move on from there. The whole thing was troubling.

[he's quiet for a moment, before he sighs and reaches up to pluck lightly at their sleeve.]

after a longer pause, they will shift to lay down. ] Can't really stay that long.

[ a little, rueful huff as they mutter - ] I sure am, yeah.

[ always on duty, anyway. they settle in the offered spot, curling an arm underneath their head and propping their cheek against it. ]

[ they think about it, for a moment, and then shake their head. the veil swishes a little against the fabric of the pillow. ]

Not really. We really only get to talk to people who come to talk to us, so.
