it's not really an unusual feeling. headaches come and go. this one's tight around your temples, painful, like you've been carrying the weight of something for too long, or... maybe even worse, like you just drank way, way too much the night before. that's not like you - you drink like a fish, but always seem to bounce back from a hangover with little trouble, but today, it is bothering you.
maybe you're just complaining. you say so to the girl beside you, who tells you of a cure that she knows to fix it. you laugh, and tease her - if she punches you in the nose as this magic cure, you're never going to forgive her - but she makes a comment about how of course it's just your face that'd earn her your ire.
you stick your face out for her, though, anyway, a little overdramatic, a little silly, and she presses her fingers into your temples. you can hear the soft jingle of her jewelry, and you find yourself not stiffening up or tensing, but just... relaxing into it, as she rubs your temples, up the line of your brow. she's all warm colors, and smells like flowers, and you...
you close your eyes, and you exhale out.
it's always the little things, isn't it? the things you love the most about her company. the things you've learned to come to trust. as she pulls back from you, you open your eyes, and you smile up at her, and you tell her her fingers are magical, which is incredibly inappropriate, but it makes her laugh, all the same. ]
