DAWN WATCH.

DAWN WATCH
Today, when Kaeya is in his bedroom, he will receive a message on his typewriter.
Have you ever had one of those dreams where you awaken suddenly because you feel like you're falling?
Not a dream. Wake up call!
Immediately after he finishes reading the message, a trap door opens underneath Kaeya, plunging him into the darkness. When he wakes up at the bottom (?), bones miraculously not broken, he will find himself in a room.
It's a room he's never seen before, arching ceilings and starry-skied windows dotting each wall. A collection of bookcases, alchemy shelves and astronomy tools can be found here for perusal, though nothing can leave this room. A crescent moon-shaped window takes up a majority of the wall directly across from the entrance. Perched on the window seat is Gemini, a worn-out map in their hands.
"You certainly took your time, didn't you."
At a large mahogany desk in the center of the room, papers spread out in front of them, Aquila sits in a comfortable looking chair, elbows resting on the desk, chin perched in their gloved hand. You get the sense they might be smiling.
"Rise and shine. We've got work to do. Or, well... "
With a flick of their hand, Aquila opens a sheaf of papers labeled PARTICIPATION CONTRACT: ADDENDUM and turns it towards Kaeya.
"You've got a little extra work to do. Congrats on being qualified! I wouldn't recommend refusing. Now then - blue or black ink?"
RULES
1. Dawn Watch is required to report to the tower the moment they awaken on Friday morning.
2. Dawn Watch must select three locations to investigate after a murder has taken place. These selections must be made by sundown Thursday.
2A: Participant sleeping quarters are off-limits.
3. Dawn Watch may explore these three locations in any order they wish.
4. All evidence and sleepers will be preserved for observation.
5. Dawn Watch will not be able to meddle, remove or disturb any evidence they find during their rounds.
6. Dawn Watch must make their selection before leaving the tower and cannot change their mind upon beginning their rounds.
7. Dawn Watch is not to disclose that they are performing these duties. Discussing them with anyone other than authorized Hotel Staff will be considered breach of contract and will result in the death of Klee.

Or trials for murder. You came rather prepared with your folio of papers.

[ he will sit on the window seat as well now. ]
Job title's different here, and the duties are a little unusual, hours are different as well, but I'm always up for being a bit unorthodox.

kaeya sits on the window seat though and gemini straightens up. there's a pause.]
Might I suggest you begin thinking of where you would like to go then?

Of course.
[ and he'll actually hold out a hand to gemini. mind if he sees this map? ]

but kaeya holds out a hand for the map, and gemini will hand it over! the map is faded, as if there is more to the hotel that isn't filled in yet on the map itself, but right now it shows a layout of the hotel as it is. i.e. it lists what you can find on the locations page currently!]

I have a question... how precisely is the "Dawn Watch" chosen? Is it by pool or... did the Host choose it?
[ he's still looking the map over. ]

sweats in juggling cyoa + this
I have a bit of time to settle on my concrete options, but I've thought a bit. Aquila mentioned "thinking" like a murderer, so...
The costume closet is a possibility. One might want to change clothes, ditch the evidence, find something to incriminate someone else inside of there. If I'm not allowed inside of personal suites, then this will have to do.
I did think about the pool, the ability to make things look like "an accident" would be easy considering how slippery it can get. That, and if the body were to be dumped in the water, it may effect the evidence itself from a body check.
Lastly... the training dojo. As it's connected to the armory, while I may not be able to look in there, signs of tampering in and around it might be visible...
[ he glances over at gemini from over the map. he assumes he can't be given any answers to this, but talking things out tends to help. ] Thoughts? Concerns? Constructive criticism?

Go with your instincts, I suppose. This won't be the last time you'll do this, so trial and error for the week is acceptable.
