No offense but I don't think I can carry you both at the same time.
[ He's a big guy but he's maybe average strength for a dude his size, surprisingly enough, since all his points are in dexterity. That being said, he'll toss the bone he's got to Dokja then, and you may sharpen it into a stake as suggested. We will use Jiji's. ]
It'd be something to loop the rope around and it catches, so we don't fall all the way back to the bottom and kill ourselves. [ Safety stake! Using his own knife to start... shaping this bone... I wish I could say he wouldn't know how to work a bone. ] Just in case.
[ Anyway that is our climbing plan, KDJ on his own while we tie Jiji and Aikawa, and Aikawa will use his dexterity parkour proficiency that he has amassed throughout all the times he has jumped crazy places just for the sake of stealing food... among other things.
Doxxing himself for being actually kind of useful and not a burger fool at all hours of the day... ]
[okay. so kdj has a bone, aikawa and jiji are tying themselves together to stay as a unit, and they all begin to climb.
scaling the side of this cliff isn't exactly the smartest idea, but they're all still making it work. there are enough hand and footholds for them to work with, easing their way up the rocks. their radios are silent. the fog rolls in around them. the night ambiance settles in and a chill rolls off of the three of them. the air's damp, almost like it's going to rain.
the higher they climb, the more into the fog they go though.
the amount of weight on one stack of rocks though causes it to shift, and the air wavers around all of them in fuzzy blue light, causing the three of them to backslide.]
[everything comes back into focus. aikawa is dangling from the cliff, rocks jabbing into his hands and feet slipping but still hanging on. jiji, for some fucking ungodly reason, is unharmed. i'm going to shoot the moon myself.
kdj on the other hand will find that the bone has been sharpened, and also impaled into his hand to pin to the rocks itself.
all three of them suddenly feel a force around them as if the air pressure has changed, crushing the three of them, squeezing the life out of them, and tiny blue wisps escape their mouths and noses. the next time they breathe in, the three of them are soon wrapped in the night fog, unable to see one another.
likewise, the three of them will no longer hold their original memories. instead, some things will change for them.
kim dokja will become more rogue, less cautious in his actions. mikazuki will be more aggressive, willing to turn on his comrades. aikawa will be more determined, risking everything to finish no matter what.
the fog lifts. the three of them dangle from this cliff.
but it's all fine. this is all fine. of course, his hand really.. really hurts! what with that sharpened bone impaled into his hand. fuck ouch. there's the risk that once he removes he might slip but, well, that would be if he was thinking normally. if he were to be overly cautious.
should be fine if he just removes it right now. which gets a pained sound from him, but he grits his teeth through it. gripping at the rocks more firmly when he does as he stabs the bone right on back into the cliff again to keep himself still pinned. just, not in the butterfly manner. ]
[ The memory sparks something in him. A hospital bed. A chance encounter. Heavy rain, no umbrella — a man in a white coat. Papers — medical notes.
He breathes in sharply as his hands almost slip, calloused fingers gripping onto the rock tighter. What is his reason for living? The reason for his existence?
There’s an end goal, some kind of fate weighing on his shoulders. He heaves the strength in his body to reach out farther, onto another jutting piece of rock despite the pain it brings, hard surface digging into his palms with the combined weight of him and Mikazuki. He doesn’t know what the fuck it is, but like his body isn’t its own, it climbs back up higher.
Focus. No words, but they should get over this cliff, first. ]
[okay, well, up they go. kdj's hand is probably a bloody mess, aikawa is ruining his hands steadily, and jiji's along for the ride. y'all ever think about how bobchansan is still missing somewhere.
anyway. no words, cliff first. they climb and they climb, scaling the rocks of this shortcut until they come up to a flat surface of the cliffs. the radio tower appears much closer, on a hill and blocked by a fence. there's a ravine that's very large to cross between the fence and the tower itself though. ahead of them, there appears to be the entrance to a mine.
their options seem to be continue climbing but toward the west away from the tower, walk down but toward the east away from the tower, or the mine.
[ it is most certainly a bloody mess but it's fine. bobchansan is sure out there somewhere... she's surely fine too.
once they're on the safety of the flat surface of the cliffs, he will weigh their new options. hmmm. mines could be risky. but the tower seems to be much closer and has just a ravine between it and the fence? which sounds more riskier.
me: a ravine sounds dangerous. kdj, less cautious: seems fine to me. ]
We could try the way with the ravine. It would be a straight shot there.
[ he should maybe try and stop the bloody mess that is his hand but he'll worry about it in a moment. ]
[the fact that jiji is now willing to turn on the dearest comrade of all: this fucking chicken
tsuru really should just stab him.
but mikazuki, who is still somehow unharmed from everything that just happened, has no reason to go against this?]
Then let's not worry the details and proceed.
[normally! he'd express some concern of kdj's hand! normally he would double-check that aikawa is still in a state to keep moving after carrying him! guess what isn't happening right now!! any of that!!!!
[ Damn where are our FIRST AID KITS, we only have bones. It’s fine, probably. He does glance at Dokja, but only offers a grim silence in response to his injury. He doesn’t have anything positive to say so he just won’t, since he’s no longer in his usual go-lucky cheerful quips mood.
He will undo the ropes and fuck you Jiji at least take the rope off. ]
…If you feel like it, sure.
[ He will say that much at least, looking over the ravine. How large is it, and how exactly, should it be crossed? We go down to the bottom of it sort of deal, or is there a bridge that can be used to cross? ]
[you know. all three of you are in a very bad position and i greatly regret the numbers you chose, but here you are. the ravine is. very, very large. it's kind of more of a valley than a ravine in that you have to slide down to the bottom and then walk across and climb up to the top to get to the field below the radio tower.
doable, but still not the greatest. there is no bridge. just a valley full of fog and rocks and the like.
are you crossing through the ravine? roll for success if so.]
[ on the way, he'll rip a strip of probably burnt fabric from his jacket to wrap and tie around his bloody hand. it still hurts btw. but also he's looking at this ravine now. like, really looking at this ravine and...
it's looking like a lot of trouble? he feels like doing his own thing. he wants to go rogue. ]
Hmm, maybe the mines will be better. Less water to deal with.
[ i want mines. i want to be different. i want the `hehe` ]
[ Internally he's wondering what the fuck is happening. His mental state is somewhat returning to its initial normal state due to the fact that he must remain in a constant emotional balance flux, and because Dokja is being a clown and Jiji is being an edgelord, he must therefore suddenly become the straight man. ]
We are not decisive people.
[ But because while he was ALONE he fucking GOT POSSESSED and then DROWNED HIMSELF he will NOT be going down the ravine alone. MINES IT IS!!! ]
as they enter the mines, immediately they're greeted with a chill in the air. red lights hang from rocky points to act as guiding lights, a rail along the ground as a path for old abandoned mining carts, pick axes and shovels and a few other scattered items. the mine itself is abandoned, but they have a few options.
they can either all board mining cars, walk along the tracks without the cars, stray from the path entirely, or turn around and leave the mines all together.]
[ the way ty keeps needing to turn this car around.
anyways for now, Dokja is looking for any signs of jiji because where the heck did that sword go? he zoomed so fast for a man his age. he'll glance to the cars, mostly walking along the tracks but since Aikawa is at least still with him he'll glance over. ]
[there are so many points in the middle of touken ranbu musicals where they're like 'where did mikazuki go?' after spending a whole scene not realizing he's missing. this has the energy of that.
aka he's probably already picked up a pick axe as his new cane so that he doesn't have to use his sword in case his limp gets worse, and then checked if he could push the mining cart onto the tracks to build momentum before boarding. can he even do this by himself? if he can't i guess he'll be stuck waiting for the others anyway
please stop letting grandpa do as he pleases i think we should stop him]
[ Aikawa will! Pick up a pick axe too! :) Thanks. Except not as a cane, but he’ll hold this thing like, you know, a weapon, just in case. ]
Can you stop trying to fuck off on your own? What’s up with you… you usually have some kind of ‘ho ho’ speech ready before you start touching shit.
[ Grumbled… that being said, he will also move these carts to make sure they’re actually moving. He kind of… has reservations about these rather than just simply walking down, but he’s pretty sure if the other two ride and he walks, they’ll get separated real fast. ]
Get in if this is how you want to do it and I’ll give you a push… I’ll try to keep up.
[so here you are with pick axes, though it's questionable if a.) dokja picked anything up and b.) if he can even wield anything given his hand. as the three of them make the very questionable choice about getting into these mining carts and begin ambling along the track, they will find themselves traveling in a single file line of cars and rolling along in the dark.
the cavern glows an eerie sort of red. the sound of dripping water echoes around the open caves. the mine carts squeak and rumble along the tracks, plunging them down a few slopes and around a corner. the radio crackles, but they don't have to listen to it if they don't want to.
but they should maybe listen to the sound of mining cars coming toward them? their cars can turn down different paths and separate them, or they can abandon ship and risk dropping into the dark abyss below.
unless, of course, they'd like to meet the other cars head-on?]
[ dokja doesn't need to pick anything up, no pick axe for him! he's fine. he still has one hand to use but he should keep it free... ish.
hm. this ride is getting a bit fast and possibly a bit questionable indeed. and y'know, he'll listen to the radio, why not? even if it isn't useful information all the time it is information nevertheless.
but now comes the question of what's riskier? abandoning ship? or likely meeting the other cars head-on? dice says cars are more riskier so. i guess he'll take a chance of turning the car onto a different path. bye i guess ]
[goodbye kim dokja. jiji will also tune his radio because he doesn't expect them to all stay on the path much longer - and he will just be going to meet the other cars head on, taking the path that leads to the closest sound of oncoming traffic. who are they. what are they. he is curious about their secrets.
also if they're not friendly he can just kill them.
[ He sees... hears... the other two tuning their radios and doesn't they need a third fucking radio-tuner in case they just get three radio voices all overlapping at once and it's already hard to hear when they're hurtling at ? miles an hour in a dark-ass cave mine.
He just kind of sinks deeper into his own mine cart... as low as he can fit his 6'8" body in there....... and is just kind of astral projecting like 'get me out of this stupid field trip already'.
And then you know, there goes Dokja, Mikazuki is still here. ]
okay so let's. address. jiji and aikawa first because they are truly just going into this dark-ass cave mine on the rails speeding along to meet other cars head-on. it is entirely possible aikawa is going to get bonked in the head with a stalactite but it's okay. that is the least of his worries.
jiji is tuning the radio and gets a new message, interlaced with static.]
"-killed himself today, after what his partner describes as a years-long battle with depression. His body was found hanging from a-"
[as their cars zip along the tracks, they will find there's no stopping. instead, approaching them in opposite cars are two reanimatedcorpses wielding their own pick axes. the cars collide, knocking both of them off-course onto the tracks as the two other figures begin to crawl into their cars. a pickaxe digs itself into jiji's shoulder, attempting to tear straight down. a different axe lodges itself right into aikawa's spine. ouchie. the two corpses keep them skewered on these axes, attempting to throw them down into the abyss.
meanwhile, kdj did the smart thing and did not run straight at other cars. he veers off-course, but his car begins to slow down, ambling along kind of like roller coasters do as you near the end of the track. it's dark now, but as he comes to a stop his face bumps into something.
does he have a light source, and would he like to look? or will he abandon ship, finally?]
well, Dokja in fact does have a light source. sure he could abandon ship but why would he do that when he can just rummage for his flashlight and turn it on. he's less cautious so he'll give in to curiosity.
[also if they're not friendly he can just kill them. > they're not friendly
the pickaxe lands on his shoulder, but he decides the radio is less important now. he drops it onto the floor of his own mining cart, bringing up one hand to try to grasp onto where the corpse is digging the pickaxe into his shoulder, forcing it up. his other hand reaches for his sword - himself - and will just.
move to cut the corpse right in half.
normally he'd laugh? he'd ask aikawa how he's doing? he'd provide some backup?
