[ Well. Bucky is intently ignoring the others and keeping his distance as much as possible, especially in the nurse's office. But he has never been one to think before he moves, so when he hears alarm coming from the central plaza, he runs. ]
[ rest would be nice, but alas. being sort of dazed while being looked over by the nurse will have to do. that vision is still clear in his mind, leaving him shaken and distracted, even as he glances worriedly at the other three. to estelle, he simply nods. ]
What can we do about that, though? [ looking over at the statue and fidgeting nervously. ] I can try summoning the frog again, unless you guys have any better ideas?
[ statue big. frog also big. maybe frog can help? ]
[All of these are options! But think quick, because when you four get closer the statue will stop with its foot in the air, hovering right over the bench.
And then the stone head turns to look at all of you.]
[ He doesn't want to get involved. He doesn't feel right getting involved, not with the other three here and bearing injuries that he gave them. (Except for Estelle, but it doesn't matter because he STILL FEELS BAD!!!)
But if they're all too injured (because of him) to do much, then fighting here is the least he can do. ]
Cover your ears. [ It's much quieter this time, almost remorseful, rather than the command it was earlier.
Then he lifts one of his guns and shoots at the statue. can't wait to roll a fucking nat 1 again. ]
[Estelle breaks into a run to close the distance, and to the people under the bench:] Please, run away!
[Clutching her prayer beads, she'll try to create a barrier to shield the bench (and those beneath it). Maybe if she's lucky, it'll limit the statue's movement and make it so her allies' attacks will throw it off-balance? But mostly, she just hopes it'll keep these randos from getting crushed.]
[ you know, maybe if they didn't keep running into things like this, they wouldn't be so injured? just a thought. kazunari is so tired, but he tries to ignore the stinging in his side to follow estelle, trying to keep the statue's attention off of her as he summons his big frog friend for a distraction. ]
[ apparently sylvain had to run a bunch of laps around the hotel last night, in addition to his fresh injury, so he's pretty tired, too. but there's no backing out of this one... he's got a similar idea as estelle, and swings at the statue's raised leg with his blade, trying to knock it off balance or at least deter it long enough from crushing the bench and whomever's underneath. ]

[ (also he has no way of covering his ears so rip his eardrums) ]
The gunshots and the sword do knock the statue off-balance and keep it from stepping on the poor students, and the barrier is a good bit of added protection too. Unfortunately, the stone statue just seems way too strong to harm shooting and slashing wildly at it. All this does is turn the statue's attention to you guys.
Kazu's FROG SUMMON roll: 14
The frog is summoned! But then it looks at Kazu and sees how injured and shaky he is, so it makes a loud croaking noise. Kazu will understand the croaks though!]
You really think you can command me in that condition? Hmph! If you want my cooperation, you'll need to give me an offering.
Meanwhile the stone statue is going to start walking towards Sylvain, since he's the closest right now.]
[ He runs in closer, shooting at the statue still for coverage, before hopping onto the bench and then leaping at the statue from there. He tries to get as much height as he can while doing it, so that when he tackles the statue, he's throwing his weight at it from a point that he can topple it. ]
[Well, the statue's attention has turned to Sylvain, so Estelle's running for the bench, which Bucky is now standing on. She drops to one knee to meet the students eye-to-eye and urge them to get away.]
This is your chance. Please, hurry! It's not safe to stay here!
[ he'll continue to act as bait and try to lure the statue away from the students. he can't do much attacking while he's busy fleeing, but hopefully his twin will have better luck...
if bucky succeeds in toppling it over, sylvain will immediately switch to the offensive again. as much as he can with his injury anyway, oof. he'll aim his blade for the statue's neck.
also, to kazu, ] Maybe it wants blood??
[ he's thinking back to when harrow cut her palm to attract ghosts... ]

[Meanwhile, Bucky leaps at the statue and lands on its leg! And kind of just. Is there. The statue weighs at least a couple thousand pounds, did you really think you would push it over that easily? Though it does have one positive effect: the statue is now distracted trying to shake Bucky off of its leg. Which means Sylvain can go on the offensive, though he's not going to be able to reach that neck right now. He can reach the knees if he tries.
[ back to action—regardless of the effect of estelle's prayer, he'll feel bolstered by her support. he goes for the statue's knee, and tries to chip away at it with multiple strikes, hoping to eventually weaken the "joint" ]
[Will Kazu regret not specifying whose blood? Only time will tell.
Anyway Bucky is flying at a wall now. Why didn't I let Bucky roll for this? Because Sylvain, with the boosted power of Estelle's prayers, will chip away at the back of the knee weakened the leg enough that the whole leg just comes off and goes flying along with our dragoon wonder here.

Also bits of flying statue debris will catch Sylvain in the face and give him a nasty cut right down the left side of his face, just barely missing his eye. That's gonna leave a nasty scar!
But now the statue is hopping around on one foot and is liable to squish people nearby!

[ Bucky roars in agony as the statue's leg reduces his right arm to paste. He grits his teeth and rides the waves of pain until he can focus on the world beyond his shattered arm again.
The ground is shaking intermittently. He can hear things crashing to the ground. The statue clearly isn't down yet. And there's nothing Bucky can do now, except for...
He pulls his other gun out with his left hand. He takes aim as best as he can, when he's shaking from pain and adrenaline, and shoots at the statue. He aims for the head, but he has no idea if a statue has weak points. ]
[Estelle gasps when that leg flies into Bucky, but keeps her focus on the fight as the statue starts stomping wildly around. They've succeeded in doing some damage, but it's not going down easily...
She backs up a few steps and begins chanting again. This time, she's trying to recall an applicable fatal verse.]
W-Wait, seriously?! [ BLOOD? sylvain, look what you've done...
hearing that sound from bucky makes him flinch back, but it's no time to get frozen in place, right? so he looks at this horrible vampire frog with a pleading expression. ]
O-Okay, so can you hold the statue back? Try to keep it from hurting anyone!
[ HIS BROTHER! NO!!!!! he winces as the debris lashes his cheek, drawing blood. (is the frog gonna lick it? that's super unsanitary...) ]

[ he'll try to take out the other knee and hopefully not get crushed in the process. he's gotta keep its attention away from the others—bucky's down, estelle's got a fatal verse to recall, and kazu has a demon to wrangle...
he's not sure how long he can keep this up. all the running and dodging and movement is causing a lot of pain, even though he's trying not to exacerbate his earlier injury as much as possible. (and bc i keep forgetting about transformations this week, he gets to sprout a demon tail and fiery horns while he fights. hmm, looks familiar...) ]
[The frog, influenced by the tasty blood meal it will be getting soon, jumps up onto the head of the status and kick it the fuck off. The statue head lands harmlessly near Estelle.
Unfortunately, a possessed stone statue can still move even without its head, so it is swinging its arms wildly to try and stay balanced. Estelle can start her fatal verse prayer and Bucky can shoot at its...shoulders, instead of its head, and Sylvain can cut up the statue with his sword. In fact, there seems to be blue fire on his sword now? Interesting...
The statue head can still move though, and it's going to bite Estelle's leg while she's praying. If she screams or reacts in any way, her prayer is interrupted and she has to start all over again.]
