[The frog, influenced by the tasty blood meal it will be getting soon, jumps up onto the head of the status and kick it the fuck off. The statue head lands harmlessly near Estelle.
Unfortunately, a possessed stone statue can still move even without its head, so it is swinging its arms wildly to try and stay balanced. Estelle can start her fatal verse prayer and Bucky can shoot at its...shoulders, instead of its head, and Sylvain can cut up the statue with his sword. In fact, there seems to be blue fire on his sword now? Interesting...
The statue head can still move though, and it's going to bite Estelle's leg while she's praying. If she screams or reacts in any way, her prayer is interrupted and she has to start all over again.]
[ unfortunately, in the chaos sylvain doesn't notice that the severed statue head is still animated, or that it is rearing to chomp at estelle's leg... he's busy swinging his katana at the rest of the statue, trying to whittle off piece by piece, and hoping the blue flames that erupt from the blade are a good sign... ]
[ He squints at the blue flames coming from his brother's sword (the hell is that about) but there's little else he can do but keep shooting and try to keep his arm steady as he does it.
Can't exactly move from under this statue's leg and all. ]
[Estelle is normally pretty good at keeping her cool in a fight, but getting chomped by a disembodied statue head is something she never could have anticipated.]

[She cries out in pain and surprise and tries to kick it away. There goes her fatal verse.]
[ man we just so unprepared for this, aren't we? oh, well. the other boys and the frog are preoccupied with the main body, so it's kazunari's job to deal with this... disembodied head... so estelle can do her job.
he's probably going to regret this later. but he summons our mvp, the little green man. or try, anyway. ]
[Things are not looking good. Estelle is getting nommed on, Bucky is pinned down, Sylvain is hurt, Kazu sold his soul to a demon frog...yeah. This is a time when a little devilish interference is needed.

Literally. For a second everyone thinks they might have seen a flash of a white cape, but then time literally rewinds itself about 5 seconds. Everyone perceives this and is definitely aware of the time fuckery going on.

[Suddenly the statue stops moving entirely. Every piece of the statue is still, there's not even a tiny bit of movement in it.]
Zwei!
[All pieces of the statue suddenly levitate in the air and zoom back to the pedestal. The mouth lets go of Estelle before doing this btw, she does not zoom too.]
Drei!
[The statue is now fully assembled on the pedestal, and it looks exactly as it would any other day. Every crack, every chip, any sign that it had moved or been attacked is completely gone.
[Estelle's thrown off balance and lands on her ass when the statue head she's struggling with suddenly lets go. Blood stains her stockings, but her attention is on the peculiar man who's just revealed himself.
After a few moments, she cautiously rises to her feet.]
[ well forget everything else he's just running straight to estelle to check on her, his own injuries be damned. he has a little green guy now, who presumably will not demand his blood like a certain frog. ]
You okay, Stella?
[ and then the headmaster materializes, which is weird enough, but then bucky shoots him?! kazunari and estelle yelp in stereo. why does this guy always shoot first and ask questions later!! ]
[ sylvain freezes dumbly as everything happens all at once. the blue flames probably vanish from his sword? ]
Headmaster...? What's he doing here?
[ thank FUCK though... they're saved... anyway, as tempted as sylvain is to abandon bucky and go check on estelle, he's closer to his "twin" so he'll go over to examine his injuries.
and then he (very lightly) smacks bucky upside the head after he opens fire on their headmaster. ]
But actually no, he's not. He just holds up a single finger to stop the bullet, all while making a 'tut tut' sound.]
I know it has been a stressful night for all of you, but surely you know not to attack your own headmaster? I could have been seriously hurt! Hopefully the rest of you have better manners than this rapscallion, yes?
[He does not sound particularly afraid. If anything, he sounds really nonchalant about the whole thing.
By the way, Kazu will notice that both the frog and the green man seem very afraid of the headmaster. Not 'fearing for their lives', but rather 'oh shit the boss is here, act natural'.]
[ God damn it. He lets his gun arm drop again. Shooting isn't going to get him anywhere. And he wants to run over and strangle the guy, but in his condition...he doubts it'd work.
So he just lays there on the ground with a pulverized arm glaring daggers at the headmaster. And, of course, scowling at Sylvain when he smacks him upside the head. ]
[Estelle gives Kazunari a grateful look and a slightly-forced smile.]
I'm okay...
[She's making sure not to put weight on the injured leg, though. Walking is probably going to be painful, but right now, she can bear it. To the headmaster, she offers a bow.]
Please excuse us. We haven't had much rest in the past few days.
[Looking at the statue...]
Is it, er... safe now? Did we complete our objective, or...?
[ they're both injured but at least he can mostly walk fine!
to the headmaster, he simply offers a bow of his head, but most of his attention is on the summoned demons. is that normal? should they be acting that way? is it because it's the school headmaster, or... something else?
he's a little tense, but he makes no move otherwise. ]
[ just watches their headmaster casually manipulate the fabric of space and time...
sylvain is utterly wiped at this point but he'll try to help bucky up best he can with one of his arms incapacitated. and hopefully they can shamble their way back to the others... ]

[ he frowns when he sees estelle's injury up close. (though thankfully kazu seems unscathed this time.) ]
[ well his legs aren't injured, so yeah, Sylvain can indeed help Bucky up, although he will try to brush him off shortly after and walk on his own to the others. ]
[Estelle takes Kazunari's hand, allowing him to help her keep her balance. She tries not to lean on him too much, though; she's still very conscious of that gunshot wound of his.
Anyway, the headmaster asked a question and Estelle takes that very seriously.]
I think we learned a lot... I really had no idea about all the different forms a demon could take.
Oh, and we were able to combine our strengths to make effective, coordinated attacks!
[ somehow, he still feels wary of the headmaster, so he keep one on eye on his demons to gauge their reactions.
but kazunari puts on the face of a student relieved to see him, wearing a shaky smile that is easily mistaken for exhaustion. or maybe that part's genuine. you decide. ]
Combining our strengths and covering each other's weaknesses. And to try to help someone who needs it first before we rush into a fight.

[He flicks the bullet away, and it pings off in the distance.
Along with that ping, everyone will hear the sounds of several tactical helicopters flying in. At first this might seem like a good thing, since you four definitely need some medical help. But the closer those helicopters get, the more you feel unsure of yourselves. It's easy to pick up on the fact that the helicopters are all unmarked, and they came from somewhere further away than just the school. Who are those people?
And why does the lead helicopter feel foreboding? As it flies closer, you feel a sense of absolute dread in you. It's like something way stronger than you has suddenly taken notice of you. Like you're being hunted.
This is when the headmaster snaps his fingers finally, and a portal opens up under all four of you.]
You better get going, before they catch you. I'll take payment for the favor later~
