[It's Thursday, the day of curfews and murder, but long before either of those things can happen it's just a normal day in the Starlight Hotel. Whatever your character might be doing that day, they will suddenly feel themselves drawn towards a door in the hallway. It's closed at first, but once your character opens it, they will find themselves stepping through into a large classroom that none of them would have seen before.
Though there are plenty of desks for students, but currently the four of you are the only ones in here. All four of you are wearing a uniform (pants or skirt version, your choice), and you get the impression that you are all supposed to be high schoolers. You still look like how you normally do, and your memories from before here are intact, but you get the feeling that to everyone else you will be a teenager.
On the front desk there are four cards. They read as followed:]

The master of melee weapons, this exorcist specializes in fighting up close and striking deadly blows to their enemies. This specialization focuses on using one’s physical strength to turn the tide of battles. Favors STR, DEX, and CON.Dragoon
Traditionally the wielder of bows and slingshots, but in modern times this has been upgraded to firearms. This exorcist focuses on long-ranged attacks and picking off enemies before they get too close. Favors DEX, INT, and WIS.Aria
Prayers have been used for centuries to keep the mind and body pure, but this branch of exorcism takes the idea a bit further. By chanting various prayers, this exorcist can provide support (barriers, healing) and also exorcize demons via their ‘fatal verse’. Favors CON, INT, and CHA.Tamer
The summoners of the exorcist world. These exorcists forge contracts with allied demons and summon them to do fighting for them. The stronger the demon, the stronger the willpower needed to command it in battle. Favors STR, WIS, and CHA.

[ He looks around, utterly confused, at the environment around them. This is...school? Oh god, what the hell went wrong in the universe that he's a student? In school? He is immediately uncomfortable--both emotionally and physically, as he tugs at the collar of his uniform shirt.
He approaches the desk and reads over the cards. Well, at least some of these sound more familiar. Especially the 'firearms' bit. He reaches out to take the Dragoon card, but it vanishes as soon as he touches it. ]

For Bucky: You will find yourself in possession of a pair of handguns. Though they feel like normal handguns, you get the feeling that the ammunition they shoot is anything but normal. This ammunition will work like regular bullets, but will also damage demons.
You are also aware of your ‘history’ here. You still remember your life outside of this world, but you now also have memories of your ‘life’ here too. You grew up being raised by a priest alongside your twin. Though your twin has only recently become aware of the presence of demons, you have known for your entire life. Though you have no memory of how you got your Mashou, the mark that allows you to see demons, you do know that some of your first memories in life are of waking up in your crib and seeing tiny demons floating around over it. You spent most of your younger years being terrified of these demons that you thought nobody else could see, but at age 7 your father finally noticed your troubles. He told you of a school where you could learn to fight demons, once you were old enough to go there. You’re happy to be at the school, but the sudden death of your father four months ago (along with the sudden inclusion of your twin in your class) has left you feeling a little bitter.
For Estelle: You will find yourself in possession of a set of prayer beads. As soon as you touch them, you feel the knowledge of several useful prayers flowing into your mind. You get the feeling that these prayers will be much more useful than they might otherwise be. (They will be able to do the following: set up a protective barrier that demons cannot pass, provide a small boost to an ally’s physical attacks, and (with a check) may be able to say a demon’s fatal verse. These effects will only last for the length of time that Estelle is saying the prayer.)
You are also aware of your ‘history’ here. You still remember your life outside of this world, but you now also have memories of your ‘life’ here too. You are the only child of the head monk at a Buddhist temple, and you grew up listening to his chants and prayers. While you were always certain that you would follow in his footsteps someday, your father always tried to sway you away from taking on the title of head monk. When you were ten, you finally learned why: those prayers aren’t just to ease the worries of humans, but also to keep demons away from the temple. Now that you’re old enough, you have come to True Cross Academy to learn the same skills as your father and protect the people most important to you. You are a bit of an unusual case at the school though, because you didn’t get your Mashou, the mark that lets you see demons, until your first day of class. Still you carry on, studying as many prayers and chants as you can to have many tools at your disposal.
For Kazunari: You will find yourself in possession of several dozen summoning papers. Focus on the demon ally you want to summon while holding one paper, and they will appear! Tear up the paper to dismiss them. (Summoning choices: a green man, a fox, and a very large frog. Summoning requires a check to see if the demon listens to your commands or not, the smaller/weaker the demon is the easier it is to command it.)

You are the only child of a medicine seller, and you grew up on the grounds of True Cross Academy. You’ve always known of the existence of demons, since most of the shop’s customers are exorcists. But you didn’t see one for the first time until last winter, when a sudden demon attack left you with a Mashou, the mark that lets you see demons. Though you had planned on a life of gardening and medicine-making, you have found that you have a real knack for summoning demons. You’re still working on ways to be both a Tamer and pursue your dreams at the same time.
For Sylvain: you will find yourself in possession of a katana with a blue covering. Hmm…this looks vaguely familiar… But anyway, you will instinctively know that this sword is a special sword. While it functions as a normal sword would, it can also injure demons.

Nothing about them stands out, they look almost like filler people in the background of a movie. With the start of the new term, we have some summer cleanup tasks that need to be handled. As you already know, summer is the time of ghost stories, and several 'mysteries' have turned up around campus. The daytime students don't know any better, but by spreading the rumors they're just making the hauntings stronger. So your homework for this week is to work in groups taking out the "Seven Mysteries of True Cross Academy". Consider it a competition of sorts: the group that takes care of the most mysteries will get a reward from the staff for their efforts.
Make sure to apply everything you've learned up to this point too. This is a test of your skills as much as it is a competition. If you don't want to have extra study sessions on top of the night classes, then you better earn top marks. And remember: if you get in over your head you can call for help from the staff, but if we have to bail you out then you don't get credit for solving the mystery.

1: If you wait at a certain station, then an empty train car will stop by at midnight. Anyone who gets on is never seen again.
2: The ghost of a bride who never saw her wedding day roams the chapel at night, attacking any man that comes close.
3: A strange apparition can be found on the sixth floor girls' bathroom, and will only show itself to any girl brave enough to sit in the last toilet stall.
4: Strange explosions can be heard coming from the science lab in one of the school buildings, but when anyone investigates nothing can be found out of place.
5: The statue of the school's founder, Johann Faust, moves at night.
6: There is a strange mansion on the school grounds that can only be found by someone pure of heart. Anyone else who tries to find it will get lost forever.
7: If you look at the many portraits in the main stairwell of the high school building, you will find one that shows how you will die.
Coincidentally, the four of you get put into one group! Lucky, huh?
