[yeah. they nail it, and she brings a hand up to rub at her eye, briefly, trying to be sneaky about it.]

Yeah. [she says, soft.] I don't know if I have a favorite food, really. But uh, this sandwich. It was an experience. And Taako and I shared it.

[they're doing their best, probably.]

... Yeah. We uh, we were on our thirtieth cycle. Tesseralia. The food there was really good, like, life-changing. Everybody - like, there was no war or fighting or anything, so everybody just really dedicated themselves to the arts, and...

I don't know, me and Taako just sat and ate this sandwich and it was like a dang religious experience.

Nah, there... there was something special about just having the memory.

[she closes her eyes.]

We never got anything from that place right. There was just something about the community there that made it possible.

[i'm crying this poor sandwich

she sips her tea, not really paying attention to what they're doing. her brain is melting out her ears.]

Oh, sure, all the time. We had to learn somehow. Uh - one time we forgot a pie in the oven at our aunt's, and it exploded. Literally. I'm still not sure how that happened.

Well, uh, it wasn't my oven! So. No. But we did destroy my aunt's oven. Yes.

[a pause.] Definitely his fault. [yeah of course it was lup ok]

[she watches them laugh, ear flicking a bit.]

I have - [a pause. and then, a little less steady, but still a joke:] I've never done a single thing wrong in my life.

I bet.

[as for the rest, she raises an eyebrow.] No promises.

[oh my god this is adorable

she does, in fact laugh, but like. it's not a mean laugh, she is more... delighted, than anything.]

That's - that's very cute, you should've just done this in the first place! [she says, giggling helplessly.]

[she puts the tea down, and then takes the plate, still giggling a little.]

... It's nice of you, though. [she says, and her voice wavers again.] Nobody really cooks for me. Not that I mind. Everybody else sucks at it.

[she takes one of the roses and munches on it.]

[stares into space]

Thought that counts. [she agrees, softer. this is probably a very sad scene, like, pathetic-wise, because she's eating an apple and trying not to cry because she is exhausted and this is such a nice gesture.

wouldn't it be funny if she gave them the memshare of her cooking for gu yun after that one trial, like she doesn't but it would be very fuckin' funny]

[i can't because then i have to give every mod two for each character and i'd die

instead, she just inhales shakily and laughs.]

Maybe that's a good idea. [she clears her throat.] It's been a long day.

No, I think I could, uh. I could use a carry.

[it's been like three weeks, why not, right.]

[personal profile] evocationary 2022-07-04 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[she's startled by this, and she lets out a noise to reflect it, like she didn't just ask to be carried. she doesn't wiggle, but it does take her a second to relax.

... she's so exhausted that she might actually fall asleep with them carrying her? there's something soothing about it.]
