unsurprising to you, probably, gemini does not let go of lup's hand and lets themselves be led out of the lobby. they will follow her in silence until they get to wherever she wants to go.
[she's stressed, mostly. it's guilt, too, but it's also - something familiar. because when she feels like this, she needs to channel it somewhere else, needs to try and find her footing.
she thinks about the grief she felt in her memories, about the loneliness and the distance, and the way the boy she half-remembers because this fucking week is a whole lot wept so hard he collapsed. she remembers he liked a girl. she remembers she loved him a whole lot.
so instead of stress, she wants something else. maybe some repayment, for all the times this kid had stood in front of her and talked her down from the edge of a cliff, these past four weeks. he doesn't need to do it again. she can scream somewhere else.
[gemini is not a mindreader, so they actually have zero idea what lup might be thinking. they follow along patiently, still holding her hand and thinking about the trial they witnessed elsewhere.
they think about the boy whose body was found behind the statue of their best friend. they think about the two killers that walked and what that means.
but it's not worth thinking all of that out loud. not when everyone's already tired, and people are dealing with consequences of other people's actions. they can see too much and they know too much. so for now, they can take one complaint at a time and spend time with someone who needs a distraction.
into the room they go though. they linger near the doorway, stepping aside to let her into her own space and debating where to go. sitting on the bed first feels wrong, considering, and they also don't want to like. offend her.
[she follows them in, and goes to the closet. it's a bit of an awkward couple of minutes maybe while she goes and changes into pajamas in the bathroom, but when she comes back out, she has the worst deja vu of her life for something that technically never happened to her. when she looks at her bed she almost expects a weasel and a komory bat to be curled up together, and she just - makes a fart noise with her mouth.
[lup goes into her bathroom to change and gemini begins to wander. they look at the fake books on the shelves, the paintings on the walls, the painting on the desk, but eventually they return to where they were about the time she comes back.
onto the bed she goes, and they are aware that if they say no it's even more suspicious. they take her hand, hoisting themselves up and settling next to her.]
