I'm sure in time, perhaps...things will change. Rupert seems to be willfully ignorant of some requests I've made, but I've accepted it. Hope knows a bit better, or at least his approach is somewhat different.

There are restrictions with every job, as I'm sure you are aware of. I don't know if there's anything we're doing that would be considered "troublesome", but we do our best to avoid speaking of ourselves too much. It isn't professional.

We gave the UWU power enough to bring them to the station. We led them along for weeks. The endgoal, I think, was all of them needed to die. It wasn't exactly easy to talk to, so, like... we figured if we got all these people to indulge, and then eventually die, the essence they left behind would be enough for the UWU to finally give us our end of the deal.

But it started to get big. And the sinners noticed, but - when it came out with what we were doing, most of them? Most of them... didn't just let us stay fed to the thing instead.

Molly, and Harrow, and Zixi, Yuri, Sheila, all of them. They were angry, but... they gave us hope when we didn't have any.

[they knew this, reasonably, from all of the files but it's still different to hear it out loud.]

...a lot of people are inherently good. Even if there are several instances where people can and will be selfish. It all depends on what will be their breaking point. It seems to me that your sinners trusted all of you enough to believe the risk was worth taking.

And I'm glad they did.

[she tilts her head back.]

Because...a lot of people are inherently good. People want to help others, especially when they know that there are other things at stake for them. Trust is a thing that can be broken, but...it's also an incredibly strong bond.
