That does not surprise me. [they almost sound amused.] Something easy and something to redirect your focus on, even at the expense of other people.

Wow! I deliberately kept the worst stories to myself, I'll have you know!

I never thought you would be one to hold back, so color me impressed. [haha.] ...I believe that was the entire point of hosting such a party. A bit of a break from what's happened. A "boost of morale", if you will.

It worked out that way. It was nice to have before we had to worry about a body and a case.

[she pulls her hair down over her shoulder and sighs at it.]

Everything. It makes things harder when it doesn't need to be. I about bit Aquila because they tried to hold onto me and I was like, mid fucking flashback. That's not their fault. It didn't need to be like that.

...perhaps not, but you cannot force yourself to get over something like that faster than you're ready to. You know that, right? Irritating as it is, it is simply a healing process that will take time. Though being here likely exacerbates it anyway.
