Hence the request for...I assume you were asking for a violin. I gave up trying to read it. [they. take the water though to open it for her. here. drink that.]
[this is so funny she's super drunk but she takes the violin and immediately starts running her fingers over it. she plucks a few notes, absently, her ear flicking a few times.]
Do you, um. Do you play? [she asks, over the sounds of her tuning.]
sits on the floor. it's fine. she means to reply, but she doesn't, because she starts to play.
and it's a little clumsy, because she's drunk, but it's muscle memory, and she plays it like greeting an old friend, like living an old memory. and as she does, her features shift and settle into something a little less lichlike. she can be normal, for just a minute. alive.]
[even if it's clumsy and even if she's drunk, aquarius seems to listen and give their full attention to her. the song isn't quite one they're familiar with, but at the same time it's pretty easy to understand the message.
and also, like, notice that she's in her element.
they won't interrupt. they could say something, but they choose not to and watch the private performance as they remain perfectly still.]
[when she finishes, she just... exhales, slowly. all the tension comes out with it.
silence, for a long moment, and then she glances up at them with a small smile.]
Think I could do some sort of task to keep this thing? [she knows it's a long shot and that they'll probably say no, but she wants to try. being able to produce her own music makes her feel some kind of way. connected, maybe.]
A lot of people seem to think I'm humoring them lately by abiding by basic requests. [slightly amused, but also a bit perplexed.] It's not a big deal. It's important to you, isn't it?
Huh? Oh, no. No, I mean, um, like... I was on a ship, and every year it'd reset us back to what we were physically at the start of our journey. Did a hundred of 'em.
I don't know if it's exactly the same, but there's at least two of you who have gone through some weird reset stuff. You'll have to find them and ask them yourselves though. I don't think it's my place to say.

Hi. Kinda thought "stay there" was a warning. [but they glance at the piano.] I didn't know you played.

I don't. Or, not well. I just um, it's all... there is. Right now. [she struggles with this stupid water.]

she looks a little sad, but.] Okay.
[she will take it, she guesses.]

but for now, aquarius is pausing before more or less opening a shadow portal and pulling out a violin to hand over.]
Here. For now.

No. Music's not really my strong suit or anything. I've...never bothered to learn either. But it's nice to hear.

[she puts the violin in her lap.] Thanks for humoring me, though. I didn't realize how much I missed playing.
[absently plucks some more notes. the room sways a bit around her, and she closes her eyes.]
