anyway the door swings open when molly slides the letter under the door. wow!
they're presented with a room with the lights on. several light fixtures dangle over a small, cramped room that's longer than it is wide. there are tables all along one wall, with boxes of some kind stacked on top of most of them, though one features a few objects that look like they're made out of metal. a bulletin board of some kind hanging up above them, there's a desk crammed in the distant corner, and a wall with a ladder resting against it to their left!
the floor is covered in papers and... bags? big, huge bags. they look stuffed full of something. wao
[He's going to pick the letter up off the floor that Molly slipped under the floor and inspect that first. Has it changed in any way? If not, then he'll stuff it in his pocket and go along with diving into those huge bags.]
If we're supposed to 'deliver it', maybe we gotta play mailmen for everyone.
[ im in tears. you all successfully delivered the letter! it is in the mailroom!! there is no aquila here.
into the bags first! they are full of... letters! you can't tell what they are, but there are so many letters in here. they're mostly on regular paper, but occasionally some are on crumbling, older paper. none of the letters are readable at all, and more papers litter the floor. occasionally, you can make out a "dear" or a "sincerely" but that's it. but there are sure a shitload of letters everywhere!
the bulletin board has several papers pinned to it - also unreadable - but many of them are connected by some kind of red string? there are some polaroids here too, but they're all faded and impossible to see. wow!]
Well, he'll dig through the old letters for a bit to see if there is anything readable before moving onto the boxes stacked on the table? anything in there? ]
[Rin will go over to the boxes too, and he's going for the box with metal stuff sticking out of it first. He's like a bird, he's distracted by shiny things. What are these metal things?]
[ nothing readable! the boxes are full of paper, envelopes, and other varying supplies for letter writing. there are so many of them.
the box with the metal stuff has a few little machines in it - there's an addresseograph, and a postal scale! they're old and made of heavy iron, but they both appear to be very functional. ]
anyway the plates just say STARLIGHT HOTEL and that is it!
as molly makes his way to the desk, he will see it contains... more letter supplies! there's a neat stack of envelopes here, some papers, a roll of stamps, and a variety of colors and types of pens, all chained to the desk like you might find at the bank. there's an antique typewriter and a phone as well, like there is in every other room.
of biggest and most important note, above the desk is a piece of paper, framed in a nice gold frame. it says the following in typewritten font.
To have mail delivered, write the addressee’s name on the envelope and place it in the slot of the letter box with a stamp. Please check mailboxes frequently to prevent overflow. - Staff.
there's also a big metal thing kind of near the desk, to molly's right. ]

[He's going to immediately test this out. On a living person first, not a dead person. He doesn't want to break anything immediately so he'll write a letter addressed to Hua Cheng. The letter says "HEY FAFA WE FOUND THE MAILROOM" and then has a drawing of a stick man surrounded by blue fire and a purple stick man with horns standing there smiling widely with a bag labeled 'LETTERS' between them. This he shoves in an envelope, addresses said envelope to Hua Cheng, and shoves in the mail slot.]
[ the metal thing is.... a big box bolted into the wall! actually, both of them are looking at a big metal box. it has a mail slot, but right now, it appears to be closed, so there is no shoving it.
the box is like. rattling occasionally? and on the side, there's a crank that appears to be broken.
[Rattling slightly...Rin will try to grab it to stop any movement, if he can. At least he can make it easier for Molly to mess with. If the rattling is just sounds coming from inside then he'll go by the door and be ready to try opening it after Molly tries the crank.]
what if he just sort of shoves the handle back in there. If that doesn't work, he'll go dig around for something that looks around the same size as the crank around here. Also what is up with that ladder i was backreading to see if i could spot anything. ladder on the wall?? ]
[He'll test the little door on the front of the metal box now too. If there is one, it looked like there was one in the picture. Can that be opened or is that locked right now?]
[ the little door is there, but it is stuck somehow... the rattling continues.
molly may shove the handle back in there! it... sort of stays? for a second? it's basically broken in half, is the thing - the break on the handle is outside of the machine, at least. in terms of the same size of the crank, it depends on where he's digging!
the ladder on the wall is attached to
a giant wall of mailboxes, floor to ceiling. each one is labeled with a name of one of the guests on a nice little gold plaque. there are also 8 boxes for the staff! the ladder is for short people accessibility. it's one of those nice rolling ladders like beauty and the beast. ]
[ molly will take a second to look in his mailbox? anything? Also is there anything in any of the staff mailboxes (committing federal crimes) - before he goes to get the red string off the bulletin board. ]
This is a mailroom, there's gotta be tape here somewhere.
[Time to go looking through the boxes! Any packing tape here? Or if there's a box with tools in it, maybe a pair of pliers to grab the part of the handle still stuck on the box and turn it that way?]
[ He'll pause and look down at his coat - and then pull at a bit where it seems like it was repaired recently to tear it off for a bit of red fabric and wrap it around the broken piece of the crank, holding it while he ties it up with the string. ]
But okay, Rin will use the tape to help Molly fix the broken piece of the crank. He does a few layers of tape too, just to make sure it's good and stuck.]
