the ladder on the wall is attached to
a giant wall of mailboxes, floor to ceiling. each one is labeled with a name of one of the guests on a nice little gold plaque. there are also 8 boxes for the staff! the ladder is for short people accessibility. it's one of those nice rolling ladders like beauty and the beast. ]

[ He'll pause and look down at his coat - and then pull at a bit where it seems like it was repaired recently to tear it off for a bit of red fabric and wrap it around the broken piece of the crank, holding it while he ties it up with the string. ]
But okay, Rin will use the tape to help Molly fix the broken piece of the crank. He does a few layers of tape too, just to make sure it's good and stuck.]

the box rattles, rattles, rattles... and then the metal door on the front flies open, and letters just shoot out of it like the letters from harry p*tter, smacking the both of them in the face. the sheer force of it actually sends rin and molly flying back out of the room, and the door shuts behind them, though it is now unlocked.
...however, while they were being assaulted with letters, the two of them may have noticed some familiar names. To: Estelle. To: Lup. To: Mikazuki.... And there are many more!
before they get the chance to grab any, the door shuts in their faces. should they try to peek open the door again, they may see shadows, sorting the letters into mailboxes at rapid speed.
