[ He actually meant 'have fun with your injured boatman and your small child while I'm BRBing but that's on him for not being clear enough. Wowie! He really does not trust the Kronk Hivemind nor the weirdo with the cleaver, but he will be coming back with Risu's huge-ass body lugged behind him.
It takes whatever amount of minutes it takes without any obstacles and whatnot along the way, :amen:.
He'll just come in by the house, thanks boatman for being on top of it. Resting Risu's big-ass body by the door and also snooping, what were you guys up to while he was gone? ]
[The first thing Sieghart does is set the bundle down on the table. Then he sinks to the floor with a heavy sigh, and he lingers there for a precious moment before rifling through the drawers and then the chest. Whatever the searches yield, he's too exhausted to crawl all the way over to the low table, so he lies down on his back by the chest and rides out the feverish nausea there. The child is free to do whatever he pleases.
Even when Aikawa returns, Sieghart continues to lie there with his eyes closed. It's too bad he couldn't do this earlier before the venom spread so far.]
Welcome back Aikawa! Boatman's just out here taking care of body things and boat things. Once Aikawa arrives with Corpse 2, he gives it and Aikawa a considering look before sizing up a couple of the empty barrels still resting along the outside of the house.]
I can set up an extra barrel for you before I leave, if you want. You'll probably have to do a little finagling to fit it in the next boat, too, but it's better than traveling with it out in the open. --Er, by the way... He's not looking too good in there.
[Since he's been around Sieghart for (mumbles) minutes now, watching as he slowly rummaged around and then lay down to let the earth consume him...
As for sweet suffering Sieghart, rifling through the drawers reveals several sets of forged travel papers for a variety of identities. New Government Forces soldiers, medics, traveling salesmen, swordsmiths and acting troupe performers. Rifling through the chest reveals numerous articles of clothing and items that would correspond to said identities, like army armbands and medical kits.
The child will simply sit by his sickly side while he suffers, holding his battered hand very carefully.]
Si-san, you're really hot... Should I get some water?
[ He's back and this time, he's also washed himself off a bit with the river water so he's not covered in trickled bits of blood, and to soothe his forearm burn. It's temporary at best, but it'll do.
When he arrives, he just sees... Sieg lying on the ground... same. He nods in acknowledgment of the boatman. ]
What's up with you?
[ Someone tell him the IDIOT'S POISONED... frowning a bit more at the kid's commentary. Who even is this? ]
[Don't tell him they have to dress up and play pretend again. That flight suit sucked. At least the chances of their flying in this excursion seem low.]
Mm, yes.
[He mumbles his assent to the child, if the child can find fresh water for him to drink. His eyes remain closed at Aikawa's questioning. Obviously, they're both injured, so that doesn't mean much.]
[Off boatman goes to pack up this second corpse, too! Two neatly bundled bodies for the price of one... Nice. Once he's done, he'll poke his head in.]
I'm heading out, but make sure to keep it low until the others get in, okay? That damn bear might be out again tonight... Heard it can track by scent.
[If nothing more is needed from him, he's gonna peace back out and get onto his boat again.
The child goes to get some water in the meantime! And fortunately he's a child of the mid 1800s (do u like the fun trick where i keep forgetting it's the 1860s and not the 1880s) which means he does have basic knowledge about the safety of various potable drinking sources and doesn't just run out the door and try to give Sieghart river water.
Since this is a meeting point and presumably a decently used one, there's a little dry storage area below the low table, which the child finds after he darts off to look around the place. Inside of the little hatched door are several jars of fermenting foods, and sweet plum wine... Hm. Well, it's not water, but?? He carries it back anyway, opening it and setting it next to Sieghart super helpfully. He also has the audacity to squint up at Aikawa and ask:]
Who're you?
[Oh wait and because Sieghart is a LYING BINCH he's also going to frown down at him and mumble something that sounds like "don't say you're fine when you're not".]
[ Aikawa... gives off the vibes of someone who's about to lose it. He really looks like he just wants to yell 'You got POISONED?' but it's counterproductive, so he just pinches the bridge of his nose.
The seasons and their proclivity to getting hurt and being extremely casual about it is really going to be the real death of him one of these days. ]
Fuck-ing shit, Sieghart, what the hell. I can patch up a wound but I don't know what I can do for poison! How'd that happen?!
[ HE'S SO TIRED. AND THEIR BOATMAN JUST LEAVING TOO, LIKE. ]
I better not find you dead later 'cause you tried too hard with that fucking shoulder!
[ And THEN he finally looks down at this kid. ]
Aikawa. Who the hell are you? Are you looking after this dumbass?
[ Never pass up a chance to dunk on Sieghart even if he's dying. He just has faith that Sieg will pull through somehow and it's also lowkey a coping mechanism. ]
[His heart sutters at the mention of the bear—not in fear, never that, but in comedic rage. It is this bear's fault everything got worse and the child is now scolding him (is it?).]
Stop yelling. You're going to scare the kid.
[It's also making his head hurt. He smells the wine and angles his head just slightly toward it. Hmm . . . Will that worsen the toxin by relaxing him?]
A snake bit me. Patch yourself up first and then help me splint my left arm; it's broken. And watch out for that bear.
[Yeah it's definitely that bear's fault... That wily ol' bear...
The boatman's just sweating about this very banged up group it's FINE he's on his way out with promises to not die about it GOODBYE SIRS. The child also frowns down at Sieghart.]
I'm not scared. [HE SURE WAS EARLIER. But it's fine now... He just nods up at Aikawa.] Yeah, I am.
[HE'S TAKING CARE OF THIS DUMBASS. Hyelp. Well, here they are in this tiny little house with their drawers full of papers and that chest full of items and clothes. No one appears to be coming up the river just yet, but there aren't any suspicious snapping of branches out in the wilderness either. What's the next move?]
[ Fucking animal injuries. He doesn't have anything for snake venom. He's already patched himself up where he could though, he can't really reach his back and it doesn't seem like he can ask Sieghart to either. His arm sucks but he chilled it in running river water, and that's really the best he can do for the time being, with no bandages and all.
He'll get like, a branch from outside or a plank or whatever and start carving at it with his piece of broken sword though, calling Sieghart all kinds of names under his breath all the way. Then he'll rip off... another piece of his sleeve, so that he can splint the other's arm. ]
I didn't exactly hear an answer for the first part of my question. [ WHO ARE YOU SMALL CHILD... anyway, once he's got Sieghart put together somewhat, he sighs. ]
Did you get a letter about heading towards a place called Tama too, or is that just me?
[The small child squints up at Aikawa like he hasn't decided whether or not to accept this new miscreant, but eventually just says:]
My name's Soujirou.
[PUNK. He stays sitting near Sieghart for a little while longer, but eventually stands up so he can go walk to Aikawa's side and offer to help. They have an extra pair of hands to utilize as needed as they consider their drawers full of papers and chest full of clothing and items.]
Well thanks for keeping his dumb ass alive. [ Speaking of, then at Sieg: ]Knowing that would've probably helped me way more about an hour ago.
[ Or however long it's been idk I'm just godmodding it to be about an hour, apparently. Sieghart doesn't even know half the story about his fucking foray into enemy camp by accident and all the chaos that came from it. ]
I'm about as good as I can be. Not great, but I've been way worse. [ And as a person who does actually care about injuries and doesn't tend to pretend to be okay through it, he's relatively honest. The back stab... SUCKS THE MOST THOUGH... but he can hardly ask Sieghart to try to do anything about that when they have no supplies AND ALSO THE LATTER IS POISONED. ] Anyway... I've got the body. Why the fuck are the two halves so far away? Should I be concerned by 'was'?
[They're still not at Tama. What a drag. He just wants to take a cool bath at the mansion.]
I'm not interested in playing pretend, but we might as well get started. Go ahead and pick something out for yourself. . . . Ah, I think I saw some kits in there earlier.
[He means the medical kits—not that he knows how the contents rate if they're for the sake of impersonating actual medics.]
[Oh, yeah, he decides he likes Aikawa actually. He just nods solemnly... It was totally him that kept Sieghart's dumb ass alive, yes, thank you.
He'll move over toward the chest with a little "okay", in any case, and begin to pick through while looking for suitable things to wear. Y'all can either pick your own wildass garments that may or may not be period appropriate in this whacky chest of horrors, or leave it in my demon paws. As he's digging through, he'll also helpfully pull a couple of the medical kits out to set aside for them to rummage through at their leisure.]
[ I'll leave it in Aki's demon paws I guess, but knowing how Dorohedoro works, Aikawa will pick an outfit that is hilariously terrible at being a disguise and yet works anyway. However, he will primarily be looking to get fresh clothes since his current one is a bit fucked up. He'll rip up the old one into strips though, just in case they have to deal with more bullshit later on.
Thanks for the medical kits too, he'll pack those up a bit and at least patch up the graze he got, and his forearm. Ouchies. ]
Yeah well, I think pretend might give you a slightly better chance of survival since you can barely move. Almost got fucked over by a bunch of guys earlier today 'cause I couldn't give 'em a name and identity they wanted.
[These are some real-ass props, as in, they're actually real items! Gotta make things look believable, after all.
As Sieghart is looking over the medical kit, he'll see that it has quite a few things that might come in handy. Cloth bandages, disinfecting ointment, a small suturing kit, and even a few folded paper packets that look like they might contain medications or pain killers.
Aikawa will actually find a fewthings in his size. There are also some of the enemy's uniforms in there, if they feel like being boring. However, nothing will seem to fit Sieghart quite right outside of this. Why are these things in Japan? Listen, don't ask questions.
While they're rummaging around and talking, they may also pick up the sound of something softly hitting the dock from outside, like a boat docking. Or maybe a very small and sneaky bear.]
[ About Sieghart getting poisoned for the fourth time in his life. Sure, Aikawa's death count is at seven right now including MG and CYOA shenanigans both, four of which he remembers, but he also doesn't brush them off like they're nothing. ]
You don't have special immortal boy powers here, asswipe. If you die on me, I'll kill you personally when you come back.
[ He says, even though we know he won't. Anyway thank you, he'll ignore the chicken uniform because it's not practical (how is he supposed to use his arms, or sneak around with this big poofy tail :( ), but I guess he will wear a mixture of uniform and bee, enough to be fully covered but sure he'll wear the headband and the wings. He's a fanciful captain. I'm going to assume the sausage links on the last one are not edible, which is quite sad.
Does this thing have windows? Let him glance out those. If there aren't, then he'll scoot towards the door and try to listen in for what that might be. ]
[If his blood can't work its magic and he stays dead, how does Aikawa expect him to come back? Stupid (affectionate).
And no. There's only one clown in this entire forsaken place, and it's Claude (apparently). Sieghart is too vain to join him and bolster the ranks when there's no entertainment to be had. Also, those leggings will compress the life out of his bitten leg.
As such, he helps himself to the enemy's uniform, sizing up as he must, though he scoots over to apply some of that disinfecting ointment and a cloth bandage to the bite on his leg above his ankle first. The rest of the bandages replace their makeshift predecessors, and he calls on Soujirou's assistance due to his splinted arm, which Sieghart leaves as is. He'd pad himself with some clownish articles to make up for the sizing discrepancy around his torso, but he's already boiling from the inside out, so it's no skin off his nose if the uniform is a tad big on him. He ditches the hat, leaves the topmost button undone, shoves some fabric into the footwear, and calls it a day.
He does, however, take the prop of a bottle from the clown set. Does the uniform come with any weapon props? Anyway, he sits by the chest, watching Aikawa and keeping the door in his line of sight.]
[Just for sweet Aikawa who missed out on his snack before, those sausage links are edible, so he can have some as a treat. Even if they were just shoved into a chest shadily.
There's also a window! He can peer outside and see two figures docking a larger boat than the one that left. Though it's a little hard to pick out exact features just yet, their silhouettes look familiar...
Over with Clown 2, Soujirou will dutifully help wrap up his injuries again, making sure to disinfect and tie the bandages up neat and tidy. It's much better than tatty remains of a jacket, at least! He can vibe with his too-big uniform looking like a fool, hanging out on the floor by the chest. The uniforms don't seem to have any weapons with them, but perhaps that won't be an issue.
As the figures get closer to the door, Aikawa will be able to make out their features more clearly - they're definitelyfamiliar! Lucretia moves to grab the knob while Nikaido waves with an enthusiastic smile, having spotted Aikawa thanks to the fact that their windows are backlit by the lantern inside. Lucretia is already talking as she pushes the door open.]
Good evening, gentlemen. I'm certain that you've-- [WAIT WHY ARE YALL SO BEAT UP. AND WHY IS THERE A KID HERE.] ...run into some trouble, as usual.
[HELP. She looks incredibly exasperated in that worried fussy way, sweeping over to the table so she can set a bag down and rummage through it. Nikaido tromps inside soon after with a bag slung over her shoulder, looking them both over with an expression of concern.]
Seriously, you guys look wrecked. You didn't run into that bear, did you? That'd be our luck.
That being said Aikawa looks away the moment Nikaido waves at him. Ignores............ I think Aki expected something heartwarming to be here but nope. The relationship is complicated.
That being said, he looks at Sieghart dead in the eyes when LUCRETIA SHOWS UP. FUCKING HELL, SIEG. ]
Sieghart stares at the door for a protracted moment before his eyes flit to meet Aikawa's, devoid of his usual mirth. The good hand that was patting Soujirou on the head retracts to rest at his side. Another moment later, he fixes his gaze on Nikaido from his seat.]
The kid and I did. We lost it by falling into the river.
[Wow Aikawa SO HARSH. Nikaido maybe looks a little confused for a moment, or perhaps just a bit crestfallen, but she clears her throat and carries on.]
Yeah? We'll have to really be keeping an eye out then, if it already got a hit once. That thing's got one hell of a nose on it.
[She pulls the bundle from over her shoulder after that, moving to roll it out onto the ground before heading over to the chest to pull out a uniform matching Sieghart's. Inside there are several rifles, some with bayonet attachments equipped.
Lucretia returns from where she'd begun to lay things out on the table, looking between the two sternly.]
Alright, boys, let's have the list. How long since you last came in contact with that bear? What needs treatment? Who needs it first? And why, exactly, did we decide to bring a child here?
[Soujirou just looks up at her with a frown and moves to tuck himself up a bit more against the wall and Sieghart's side. If no one sees him... no one can tell him to leave.....]
[ He rubs his forehead a little bit... the second time he's been bullied by the image of Nikaido here (at least in a CYOA), and every time, it's a bit awkward, because as far as he's concerned, she may as well be a stranger to him. ]
I've never seen this bear everyone keeps talking about. I got a sword thrown at me from the back, and beats me about the kid 'cause Sieghart didn't even tell me where or how he picked him up to start with.
[ He is eyeing the bayonet attachments on the guns though. Every day I live haunted knowing that Caiman's canon knife (which Aikawa still has to this day because of mg shenanigans) either is, or very closely resembles a M7 Bayonet... tfw normal knives are too small for your hands. Anyway those mini-swords are basically knives to him and he'd rather swap out for a proper weapon. ]
Sieghart definitely needs to get patched up, you got anything for a snake bite?
[ It's Lucretia, he believes in her to. Even if it's old timey wimey Lucretia.
