[ Neither of those look particularly friendly, and Claude draws an arrow from his quiver, keeping an eye on them but also looking around. ]
A demonic beast. The Empire would often employ them back in Fรณdlan.
[ Is there a path that they could take to avoid them? Or is the path wide enough they could try to sneak past. ]
We have to fight bosses at the end of the labyrinth, and I doubt we'd encounter them this early in. So I'd suggest trying to avoid unnecessary battles if we can. [ ... ] You don't have a weapon, do you?
[The two figures are slowly approaching Tsuru and Claude, but there's no room in the alleyway to move around them and no other path to take! What now.]
I can be pretty fast when I'm trying to avoid bodily harm, but my bow is best suited to be used as a distance, so I'd rather not rush at them unless there's a path through.
Can that creature of yours be blinded, or is it more of a supernatural, "sensing with an aura", type thing?
[ For now, he's going to lift his bow and fire off a couple arrows toward the demonic beast's eyes, ready to move back to keep his distance if they charge at them. ]
[Hope Tsuru and Claude are enjoying their nice chat, because those monsters sure are charging at them, especially spurned on by Claude shooting a few arrows. Unfortunately, I rolled a 2 and a 4 for him AND THEN OUT OF PITY I DECIDED TO GIVE HIM A THIRD ARROW WHICH AT LEAST GOT A 14 so the first two arrows miss the beast very pitifully, but the third at least strikes it. Not in the eye, unfortunately, so it's more annoyed than incapacitated, but at least it's an injury!
I already forgot what type of kebiishi this is furiously googles OKAY it swings its oodachi at Tsuru, aiming to cleave him half. Meanwhile, the demonic beast charges in an attempt to tackle Claude to the ground.]
He wishes so badly he was airborne right now. He has to run? On his own two feet? (breaks bow)
Since the demonic beast can evade in this narrow alley, Claude is going to attempt to do the same, away from Tsuru so that they don't all end up on top of each other, probably further back in the direction they came from so he doesn't end up pinned against the wall.
While doing that, he'll fire off more arrows, aiming at the throat and the chest this time. ]
If you want to turn tail and run, just let me know!
[Tsuru blocks, but the force of the blades clashing against each other might send him stumbling. The kebiishi swings against, slashing across Tsuru's face with a roll of 17.
The arrow that Claude fires at the demonic beast's chest misses, but the one aimed at its throat strikes true. It gurgles monstrously, though while dying perhaps, it's not quite dead yet as it claws at Claude's chest with a roll of 18.]
he backs away, and uses his free hand to use his sleeve to wipe away some of the blood. it's fine? at the very least, he's used to continuing fighting while injured, so even though it hurts he'll keep going. ]
You okay?
[ meanwhile, tsuru is going to charge forward in an attempt to just stab the binch in the face. ]
[ They're really going to be felled by random fodder.
The blow hits hard enough to knock Claude onto his back, claws digging into his chest but losing steam due to the arrow in its throat before they can dig out any of the very important organs that are there. ]
Probably not!
[ Thankfully, there's enough adrenaline that Claude doesn't really register the pain yet, using his lowered position to fire again at the beast's throat before rolling off to the side in case the creature decides to kneel over onto him. ]
[Imagine if I rolled for Claude's attack and was like "you missed even though it's right there on top of you." No, I'll be nice—Claude's attack hits it right in the throat, killing it fully as it collapses. Good thing Claude rolls away!
Tsuru, however, is not so lucky. The kebiishi is apparently taking cues from its nimble dead friend, evading Tsuru's attack before slashing at his chest with a roll of 18. However, it swings so hard that as it completes its swing, the momentum causes its sword to go flying out of its hands, landing a few feet behind it. Oops!]
[ Thankfully, Claude is pretty nimble too (unless Jan rolls poorly), so he's quick to get into a crouch from his dodge, firing a volley of arrows at the sword monster's chest, neck and head, while desperately trying to avoid hitting Tsuru.
He gets back up once he does, bolting for the dropped sword in case the thing decides to get any ideas about reclaiming its weapon. ]
Tsuru tries to impale it, but unfortunately it dodges enough so that Tsuru's blade skims its side instead, while Claude's first two arrows... miss entirely... In fact, the one aimed at the kebiishi's neck, with a grand total of 1, strikes Tsuru in his non-dominant arm. Yikes!
Fortunately, thanks to the injury Tsuru landed, however minor (and also, the kebiishi might be distracted watching this bit of friendly fire between its enemies?), its movements are slowed enough that it doesn't have time to dodge Claude's final arrow. That one strikes it in the head, as it goes down! Probably.
No, it's dead. You can tell because both it and the slain demonic beast explode in a shower of particles, leaving behind... loot. What does this loot look like? You're not sure, but you can tell it looks like Loot that you can easily stuff into your sleeves. Or pockets, whatever.
[ he just. he just pulls the arrow out and drops it. ]
Well. Let's continue.
[ this is fine.
he leans down to pick up some Loot, he supposes, and shoves some down his sleeves. he is bleeding from three different places, including his face, but it's fine. he is ready to start walking forward again. ]
[They can try and deal with their wounds to the best of their abilities, even if you admittedly don't have much here to work with! Out of pity, Claude can keep the sword.
As they move onwards eventually, though, they'll hear familiar voices screaming, before they reach a courtyard...]

[ thank you cyoa magic. he doesn't summon a weapon yet, though, instead he continues to squint in their direction. ]
Shall we go forward? Even if we don't have to beat these ones, as long as we manage to slip past them... I hope you're fast.

well, this is a good time to summon his sword then!! he'll do so, and he'll make an attempt to block the blow with his own blade. ]
