Hey. Just... kind of wanted to hear more of the, uh, explanations about everything, if you have time... and also to see this pet that apparently looks like both a cat and a dog?
I can try to explain as much as possible, but there might still be some things I can't. [but he nods and opens the door a little more to let him in.]
Come on.
[when he enters the room, what he sees first is that it's glowing with some low lighting, enough to see and be comfortable without being overwhelmingly bright. the walls are dark, floors a dark wood and the accent colors are very rich and deep (burgundies, creams, etc.) the king-sized bed is there, piled high with pillows and blankets. there's a window across from the entrance with a window seat, curtains currently open to reveal what looks like a nice, scenic park. two large bookcases are flanking each side of the window, crammed with books. there's a fireplace and a plush reading chair, with a small table to the side of it. there's also a large executive desk against another wall, along with a closet door and a bathroom door.
there's a typewriter on the desk, along with a closed laptop. there are...also a a buttload of papers in a messy pile, two books stacked on each other next to the typewriter itself. there's a garbage can filled with papers, snack wrappers and soda cans. the office chair is comfy and leather though. there's a vase of flowers in the room, tall and purple and willow-y with a few fresh sunflowers added.
there's a nightstand next to the bed, along with a small shelving unit. there are all sorts of trinkets and items scattered around on these things, and on the walls themselves there are a few framed awards. he can't read what they are. there's also a watercolor of a carbuncle? the nightstand has a star-shaped alarm clock amongst the other stuff. there are drawings taped to the wall. he might recognize some of these as tsuru's style.
there's a table with a chess set as well. on the mantle of the fireplace is a steel warrior action figure of some sort. there are also. dog toys. everywhere. and treats. and a dog bed sits by the chair near the window. there are claw marks in one of the curtains and it seems like it's sliding off a little.
but there's also a laundry basket set out piled high with clothes, a few random items tossed on the floor.
[ "steel warrior action figure of some sort" uh huh
it's interesting actually seeing all of this now after hearing it described a few times... most of it seems at least roughly how he was picturing it, even if he was kind of off on the layout, but boy, meow wow is sure a colorful surprise. ]
Only the bad ones. [still doing nothing to pull the puppycat off.] But Dream Eaters are spirits that help us fight the evil kind. Those're called Nightmares. We had to fight a lot of them while we were taking our Mark of Mastery exam...after that, Meow Wow stuck around with me.
So, uh... I'm not really sure what to start with. Were those contracts we found real? Harrow said the stuff on Mr. Edgeworth's about when he was one of those avatar guys wasn't true.
The contracts were real. [he doesn't sound thrilled.] But the boss decided to write his own notes for employee evaluation, I guess. Maybe it wasn't true but it would've been enough to make Edgeworth act.
[ he has some questions about the whole kay faraday situation, but he's not sure how much edgeworth would have actually talked about that, and it's probably not that important right now anyway... ]
...What did he tell you about me?
[ also... not important right now... but whatever. ]
He told you some stuff, right? Since you knew I made a lot of puns and everything...
[sora hums to himself, leaning back on his hands on the bed and trying to think.]
Wellll...he left a ton of notes about all of the guests that were staying here. So he mentioned a lot of stuff there. I don't think he ever really gave off the impression you were a bad person or anything though.
[it's been a while and a lot happened so it's possible miles just went "why." and detailed sebastian's history and temperament, but it's fine.]
Mostly it was stuff about--[. . .] Stuff you probably don't know about yet and I probably shouldn't tell you.
Time's been frozen, that part's fine. [but he pauses.] How things go with your trial might change your future though, you're right. I just I never really thought about that.
W-well, um... not... that much... these trials are really messed up, there's like... so much that they do wrong. But... I guess maybe I'm a little better at finding contradictions and stuff now...
That's probably really important. Edgeworth used to talk about deductions and stuff. Breaking down facts to get to the ones that don't add up. I'm sure you'll do great going forward.

Oh! Wow, that is... not what I expected...

anyway, meow wow squeaks upon realizing there's someone new in the room, bounding across the bed to get closer.]
I think that's probably a normal reaction to him. This is Meow Wow.

[ tentatively reaches out a hand to pet or be sniffed?? ]
Is he... a cat?
[ because, you know, meow. ]
O-or she, I guess.

meow wow launches himself off the bed with a squeak to tackle sebastian for cuddles and licks. goodbye.]
They're called Dream Eaters. They're spirits who helped us out a while ago. Meow Wow was the first one I ever met, so he's stuck with me for a while.

[ he is not prepared and is totally knocked back by that tackle. inexplicably super effective against this bidoof. ]
Dream— what?
[ in the middle of being licked ]
He's not gonna eat my dreams, is he??

Are they really that bad though? Maybe he just doesn't know what they really mean so he just thinks they're bad.
