[the good thing about the dog park is that several dogs are suddenly swarming them for attention. gemini decides it's appropriate to pet them for this conversation.]

...I suppose you could say that. [carefully said...and then:] I do have a fondness for dogs.

[Estelle crouches down to meet a labrador coming her way, its tail wagging. She grins at Gemini.]

I love dogs, too! They're so friendly and clever... I've never had a pet of my own, though.

[estelle is so cute. this is so pure. gemini's busy petting the face of a pitbull that's lopped its way over to them.]

They are an incredible animal, all things considered. There can never be enough said about their loyalty. But, that's right...one of your traveling companions is a dog, if I remember correctly?

You know about that?

[She's a little surprised, but not too bothered.]

... Yes, his name is Repede! He's really smart. He can track scents, and fight with a knife, and even cook! Sort of.

We do have files on all of the guests, Miss Heurassein. I would be in a poor position if I had not read even the basics. [but they pause.]

Wait, he can do what now? How? I mean the first two are self-explanatory--[like this is normal!?]--but cooking is unusual.

[mustbepurged]

I don't really know, either... We just leave him alone with the ingredients and he comes back with freshly-made dog food.

...... It's not bad, actually? [She ate it.]

...dog...food. [they ponder this.] I suppose if he has the capability to do so it's best to leave him be to continue honing his craft. Unfortunately, I do not believe any of the dogs here are quite as brilliant as that.

I'm sure they're all exceptional in their own way!

[She ruffles the lab's fur encouragingly.]

I believe you're most likely right in that assessment. [pats for good dogs...]

...you had mentioned you had some questions?

The first thing I was wondering about...

I received some flowers in my room last weekend, then again today. Do you know where they came from?

Flowers? No, I don't suppose I do. Were they the same kind each time?

[mustbepurged]

[She shakes her head.] They looked like very thoughtfully-assembled arrangements, in my view.

So there isn't anything like a flower delivery service at the hotel...?

Nothing of the sort from what I've been made aware of, I'm afraid. Perhaps it would be best to simply cherish them and think about them.

[mustbepurged]

I am. Don't worry.

I just wish I could send something back to them, to show my gratitude...

I think, perhaps, just acknowledging them is gratitude enough. But I can understand wanting to reciprocate and how difficult that may be. Perhaps putting something in a public place for everyone to admire would suffice? If you do not know the sender, then at least there is a chance that they'll see it.
