[ Niah will accept the pets... His pack is one person and paw friend less now. ]
... Their souls don't linger? It was true to our round before, but even in my world you will find souls linger in the many forms of hells. The Underworld being one.
...I suppose that's a fair point, but you know not every universe has an Underworld, or even a concept of it. I guess maybe...they might? But it's not like you can contact them or anything. That's true for most worlds though, isn't it? It's very rare for people to connect with deceased souls whether they're around or not.
Multiple realms can exist simultaneously and souls can be in any of them regardless of their origin is what I've learned in my universe. It's possible to visit and return... But difficult. Sometimes impossible.
[ sometimes orv is just everything. Joonghyuk grumbles. ]
All I can say for right now is that it's not possible. We have to move forward as though it's not, regardless of what any of us are used to outside of this hotel. I know that's not the greatest answer. I'm sorry for that. But I think you'd rather I be honest than lie and pretend things will be okay, wouldn't you?
[that's okay, they are aware they are the bearer of bad news here so they just remain silent and pet the daemon and refuse to say anything until yjh makes a move.
there is a bit of tension in the line of their shoulders. their movements are equally silent, more contained and limited as to not draw attention.
...it isn't the same. And I know that. But uh, in some cultures and some places, people burn offerings for the souls of the deceased. I'm sure you already know that but if you do it in a place where they're likely bound like an altar or a cemetery maybe it'll reach them somehow.
[ is this flavor or is this something I have to submit cause he would do this out of paranoia of it being real ]
I’m aware of this custom, but it has been long since I’ve practiced honoring the dead. [ … ] Outside of these games, I believed that caring for the dead is more for those grieving than the actual dead themselves.
[ Because outside of mgs people just die? Never come back without underhanded revival plans. ]
[sometimes you respect a person and you do feel marginally guilty you've disappointed them. niah licks the veil and aquarius sort of blinks, a hand coming up for more pets. it's okay, don't mind them.]
I think you guys are doing a good job leaving flowers and gifts on the graves themselves. But...I haven't, yet. There are a few people I've spoken to that have since left that I wouldn't have minded talking to a little more. Aikawa, for one thing. Rupert. But a lack of knowing people doesn't necessarily mean they deserve less. Everyone's important to someone else.
[literally you all have hostages, but also...people, here, are bound to get close to at least one or two others, if not a small group of their own.]
[ He thought this was the dead sulking. Niah accepts more pets. His fur is very fluffy today. ]
... There is nothing wrong with having your favorites. One person can't afford to care for everyone. [ Joonghyuk feels for people in this situation, but everyone has limits. ] We can burn some letters.
[maybe the dead are also sulking, that's hard to say.]
Of course not. [idly. they agree, everyone has favorites...but they don't really elaborate and look up at him from under the veil.]
Who would you like to burn them for? You could also just...write them and then decide what to do. Some people decide it's better to hold onto them themselves. And some people change what they want to say before then.
[ i meant that they are sulking over the dead topic stop ]
... I mostly spoke with Aikawa, Rupert, and Kaeya Alberich. While the others aren't unpleasant, writing to them when we barely interacted comes off as insincere.
[ He doesn't want charity so he thinks others don't, either. ]
Fair enough. [they don't seem to disagree at all. it makes sense to them.]
Hey, I can appreciate someone with a strong resolve, but you never know. There are...things I've done that I may have changed later. I try to be better about it now. But okay. We can write and burn letters for them. I've got a lighter.
[they reach into their pocket and pull out a starlight-brand lighter to show him. ]
We do have the capability to obtain small items as guests need them. Some of you like to smoke, so I've kept it on me. Unfortunately I can't give it away for keeps.

Kim Dokja has done it before, at home.

A shame. [but they don't seem to push it.] It's just a suggestion, don't worry about it.
[this is. the second time they've failed in this conversation and they seem to sulk themselves.]
Not yet. It's...we have a lot of backlog after everything that's happened in the last couple of weeks. But I haven't forgotten.
