Better or worse than the trials you faced in your Prism?

...the first that we had there was a false 'murder mystery', so I suppose this is an improvement in that it does not make a mockery of the loss of life before it even begins.

I wouldn't necessarily call mock trials an actual mockery. I believe they might be rather informative.

Were it meant to be informative, mayhap I could agree, but they acted as if it were merely-- entertainment. That they were throwing a party of sorts.

You take life and death quite seriously then.

'Murder' does not exist, within my home. The Prism was essentially my first introduction to it, and so the idea that others found scenarios in which they killed each other acceptable party fare was...

Murder does not exist within your home. How is that possible when it's something that occurs through people themselves?

It is something my people would not consider. We have no need to ever end each others' lives.

You're from a world in which there's perfect harmony then? No threats to your livelihoods?

[ktiseos]

In essence, yes. Our lives only end when we so choose-- when we have completed what we consider to be our personal duty, and found fulfillment in our contributions to the world.

In a sense then, one could potentially live forever should they consider their personal duty unfulfilled.

One could. It is not entirely unknown for some few individuals to eschew tradition and continue to live after their retirement, though the stars only know why they would retire if they feel they are not yet done.

Perhaps they felt they needed a break before continuing on with their purpose? Who could possibly say.

Then they may simply take leave-- but no, they were fully prepared to pass on their seats and mentor their replacements. Yet here they still are.

You've never asked why yourself?

They would not answer clearly.

In that case: do you believe we shall find improved performance, should this happen again?

I believe that's up to you. People will always be unpredictable in times like these.

So they will. But mayhap with time, we shall predict each other with more ease.

Am I to assume that's how your Prism also worked?

To an extent. I believe we ended up working fairly well together.
