it's very twilight out here, but it does feel nice! everything is very pretty still, including the statues he's ignoring. aquila glances up at him. ]

I've yet to decide if I wish to discuss the events or avoid the subject for now.

[he says, with a sigh.

he does linger a little near the chroma statues, but just a little.]

[ they say, and come to a stop when emet does, glancing at the statues. they tilt their head, veil tilting a bit with the movement. ]

[ there's a faint smile in their voice as they turn their head back to the statue. ]

...I like to get to know people myself. Think you get a better picture that way. And besides, after a shit day like this, it's nice to talk about something good, isn't it?

[he finally turns from the statue.]

I had somewhat hoped this would not come to pass.

[ they continue to look at the statue for a moment longer before they turn their gaze back towards emet with a soft swish of fabric. ]

[ oof. there's a moment where they hesitate, but then reach over and put a hand briefly on his arm.

[he isn't fully expecting that, and almost reflexively pulls his arm away.]

...Not fully. But there are some I know who I think would insist I hope for it regardless.

[ there's a beat.

[conversely, his tone is a bit more short

[ ah. the short tone doesn't bother them, really, either, though they do somber up a bit. ]

[not when this has proven to be another place where death is apparently going to happen. he doesn't exactly want to think about being here for vax, or what he might think of it.]
