That one is "Pants on Fire". You can use it during the week if you want to, and it'd just happen pretty much right away, but if you pick someone to use it on on Friday, you also have the option to pick something specific that might come up during the trial that would "trigger" it. It might be something like... they get directly accused by someone, or if someone doesn't accept their explanation of something during one of the checks and keeps pressing. Pretty much anything you can think of that might come up, as long as it's specific!
If that thing happens during the trial, they'll only be able to lie for the next hour. If the trial ends without the thing you picked happening, it'd take effect at a random point later on.

Yes, that's right. Because you still used it on them, so - it'd have to happen at some point. But only after the trial was over. It might be the same day, or it might be the day after.
