anyway, vulpecula seems totally okay with polaris's head on their shoulder. they keep at it! it's only when kaeya returns and gets their breakfast and tea set up that they give polaris one last pet and get back up into their chair.

[they take the tea, looking down at the little painted flowers, and pause for a moment. it's impossible to see the expression on their face, what with the veil, but they bring it up to sip at it soon enough.]
[ he shakes his head, already beginning to cut a few of the scones into pieces for them to sample. ]
I actually think he should be pet by whoever he wants. Especially while we're not connected at the moment. You didn't overstep at all... in fact, you made him happy, and for that, I thank you.
[ he continues to just go through his own motions, but at the remark about the tea he looks up with a smile. ]
Is it? Perfect. Now... here you go.
[ starts to pile vulpecula's plate with some of the food now with some utensils, making sure they get a bit of everything. ]
He's certainly easy to please while he's here. So... you're welcome to pet him when you like, if he allows.
[ polaris himself flops under vulpecula's chair and just seems content to lay there while they enjoy their breakfast. kaeya will definitely help himself to his own plate because he's starving and a little hungover still and coffee would be better, but tea just feels right.

That is very good... We'll have to come back again this week before we move onward and try more.
