I'd say I fight rather well. And I still have my locket, so that'll come in handy when I need it.

What does your locket even do?

Magic from home, I believe. I’m not someone who has a specific individual trait, but I do have a few types of magic I think I’m pretty good at.

It's kind of interesting to know that you're able to learn different kinds. But as long as you can defend yourself...

Is that weird? People are normally proficient in a type over others, but as long as you have a tome you can cast.

Where I'm from, not everyone has the ability to learn. If you're able to, even then you might not get to learn how to use the skills you want.

Mm. Well, depending on my class I could theoretically heal or attack. But how good I am at it depends on what I'm personally good at.

Example, I do pretty well with Wind magic. Give me a magic book and I can't access Fire, or Thnder. But Wind? That I can use. And within that, I can access all the way to the high level of Wind magic. But I can't access the rawest, most powerful black magic, so I'd be classed... what. Above average?

A branch, then. And once you're on that branch you can't really go off to something else. Sure, I get that. Ours are a little more innate than that. You can either tap into the potential or you can't.

Mm. It’s like… you pick up the book and that’s all that comes out of it. Not sure whether it’s something in the blood or just in who you are, but that’s how it goes.

So, some people just straight up can’t do magic at all? Not even the most base healing spells as a failsafe?

Where I'm from, a majority of people can't use magic or anything at all, no. They just go on living their lives as normally as possible without needing to worry about things like spells or anything like that.

… Sounds remarkably peaceful. Then again, being able to use magic is linked to learning it, and not everyone does that.

What do you think, life of peace and normality, or a more dangerous life with more excitement and less stability?

Peaceful for those people, sure. But there're always people working overtime to keep that peace. [they tilt their head at the question though.]

...I know the life most people want, and I wouldn't mind it myself, but I don't think it's a life I'm going to get so it probably doesn't matter much what I think about it.
