You know that scene from the Fall of the House of Usher where the girl just wholeass busts out of the wall after being entombed alive and is just super gnarly looking?? That's happening here. Like Alphinaud, his clothing is tattered and bloody, and the many gashes decorating his body seem to have healed to varying degrees of "only partially". Enough that he's not at risk of dying (AGAIN???), but he sure is pale and a little shaky! It's fine, it's fine, he's been through worse. He just coughs a handful of blood up but that's fine, too. HIS INSIDE BLOOD.
