they should head that way. the other teams all appear to be sizing them up, though there are no words exchanged. it's a look at the competition. nothing more, nothing less. the man on stage has a microphone and he begins to speak.]
Welcome to the Spell Games! Which of our five teams will come out on top? Study hard and get good to knock out your opponents and take first place. [they gesture to the houses.]
Our first round...Trick or Scream! Each team will have to enter their designated house and find the light at the end of the tunnel. The team that comes in last place will be eliminated from the games! Teams...are you ready?

[there are all sorts of lights? the house itself is still lit. it looks very much like a suburban home with the floral-print furniture and weird kitschy decor. as they enter the house, they'll see a a stairway leading up to several floors, several doors on the ground floor, and a hallway that leads to the back of the house.
checking the rooms on the ground floor, they find a few knickknacks like cookbooks, fake potted plants, a l*ve l*ugh l*ve sign on the wall, and what appears to be a bathroom and a few bedrooms. the front door closes.
the lights suddenly go off, and they hear the shouts of the rival teams from their own houses as a loud slithering noise is heard above. unfortunately for them, there's one pinprick point of light at the very top of the stairs, and no other source for them to follow just yet.]
the like. second she hears the slithering noise above her she slaps a hand over the back of her neck with one hand. the lights going out doesn't help, and for a second she's frozen.

they can run up the stairs, and soon the staircase moves, swinging them directly into another room that tosses them further away from the exit. a hole has been opened in the ceiling thanks to the crashing, shedding a bit of fluorescent light down and revealing that they find themselves face to face with team dokja. the three women look at them, suddenly nodding in sync and splitting off to run past them and try to make their way toward the exit first as several small, dark furby-esque creatures begin nipping at everyone's feet.]

meanwhile, unfortunately, joonghyuk can in fact throw lup through the ceiling hole. and also shinobu. and himself? what the absolute fuck. as they yeet through the hole, the house shakes under their feet as the foundation rocks. the screams of team dokja can be heard inside as the fire roars, and team fan favorites find themselves on a portion of the roof. glancing over, they will see that team starblaster is crawling out of their house through an exit door on their own roof, and teams demon corps and st̸̲̑a̸͙͊r̴͚͛l̴͙̅i̸͇̎g̴͍͑h̸̗̍t̶̯͌ are already out. the house burns gently beneath them, and as the three of them sit on the roof a buzzer sounds off.]
Team Dokja Co., you're out of here! [the mc on the stage looks up at the houses, squinting at them like he's trying to decide if this counts as a win or not.] The remaining teams, please clear the area! The next round will begin in 15 minutes!

as the group head over to the grass where the crowd has gathered, they will find what appears to be a hedge maze. it's not as big as the one in the realm, but it does appear to be long, winding, and disorienting. the mc is standing outside of the entry points where the three remaining teams wait. taako glances at lup, seemingly staring just past her before looking away and continuing to chat with his teammates. the starblaster crew laughs together about their current victory, and the demon corp team stares at shinobu with dull, judgmental eyes before turning away.
the rules of the game are explained. each team must enter the maze, doing their best to hide from the shadows and stay in the sunlight. they will not be successful if their whole team does not exit the maze at the same time. they have to do their best to defeat any creature that catches up to them, but on occasion, familiar figments will pop up to startle them. accidentally eliminating any of these will lead to automatic disqualification.
without another moment, the whistle goes off and the teams enter the maze. the walls tower over joonghyuk by about double his height, so none of them can see beyond. as they make their way forward, the sun shines overhead, but it's quick to move, circling above them and consistently plunging them into the night where creatures appear to fight them. every now and then though, a familiar face of a deceased starlight guest will appear, their ghostly form watching and waiting for them to help or harm them.
[the look from taako - or the lack thereof, really, makes her heart sink. she continues to be much more quiet than before, just making little sounds of agreement or disagreement whenever they need to make a decision.
lup will help fight anything that comes along! she relies on her staff to help her hobble through the maze. and when the dead show up, whoever it is - she'll ask them for help. maybe emet-selch can lead them out of the maze, he's a tall asshole.]
[ truly wish shinobu wasn't so traumatized so she could be more adjusted and show more concern for lup's increasing quietness. the judgmental eyes from the demon corps do get to her, but she moves on.
she aims to try to get through the maze as fast as she can, sticking to the sunlight wherever she can. getting away from shadows seems like the right thematic thing to do, so she does that. she helps fight any creature with her handmedown sword, darting in and out and around is what she's best at with her fighting style.
she will buff the hell out of everyone. seeing the dead makes her pause, but she won't harm them. she wouldn't harm them just like she wouldn't harm the familiar figments.
if she needs to, if emet-selch can't help, she'll use her gloves to try and climb up the hedge walls and find the best route out. bitches cheat. ]
