On the other hand, this seems to aggravate the other fiends more? The one still trying really goddamn hard to kill Sebastian swipes a claw at him, while the other is still going for Cloud's sword. More fiends show up, though thankfully, not from the direction that the footprints are leading to.
Two of them speak. Their voices are garbled and they still look like monsters, even if somewhat humanoid, but they sound... kind of like Sebastian's dad and Aerith respectively?]

[Cloud gives a tiny baby kick of 7. I rolled an 8 so this is not as ineffective as it could be. Cloud kicks it away with some effort, but in the process, two fiends make it past him.
Anyway, run, Sebastian, run! Don't mind the fiends that made it past Cloud and are absolutely chasing after Sebastian now. On the bright side, light is starting to fill the area so they're not BLIND anymore and can follow the footsteps, although it's not exactly comforting light! It's making everything bright red!
The rest of the fiends chase after Cloud, who's probably chasing after the fiends chasing after Sebastian. This is going great.
Sebastian at the front, however, will want to be careful. Eventually, he'll hit the edge of a cliff.]
[ he starts to answer cloud, but shit's happening here, so he just leaves that there and starts running after the footprints!
and lmao MY LUCK ALREADY RAN OUT I GUESS so with this beautiful 1 i rolled he's probably getting tackled by a fiend right at the edge of the cliff. cool!!! ]
[ benny hill plays in the background as cloud runs after the fiends running after sebastian, and then sebastian eats shit down the cliff probably and cloud is going to try to catch him before he falls! with an 11! so maybe they will both tumble off the cliff and die with fiends tumbling with them. that'd be fun. ]
[Not that it matters much. Sebastian gets tackled off the cliff with the fiend! Cloud tries to grab him and falls with him instead!
The good news is that the footprints did end here, so.
Down they goooooo... into the mist below. Whatever lies at the bottom, neither of them can see. They simply fall deeper and deeper, before their consciousness leaves them entirely.
And then they splat against the ground below and die. No, that doesn't happen, although I'm sure some of you sure wish it did. But...]
