Fuck! Hold on tight!

[He's putting an ice pillar below their platform (1). At least they can be a little closer to the opening. Or so he thinks. With a one, the pillar shatters upon the impact. They have not gone anywhere.]

Hey, can ya move the metal?!

[ zuko fares a little better -- he uses his magnets (11) to rip off the section of the platform sheila's focusing on and lifting them up!! ]

[ then, he'll grab the spear he yeeted earlier - fumbling a little but grabbing it thanks to that 13. he makes some desperate slashes to free sebastian and cutting as much of the malice he can reach -- 19! ]

There's something said about the best laid plans not happening. In some way, this is an example of it.

The pressure has increased so much they can hear hissing coming right from under the platform, which has begun to shake like a pot lid over steam. Sheila freezes it, stopping the shaking, chains holding the platform in place...but it won't do anything with the pressure beneath. Instead it's as if it's gathering strength, it bestowing into the platform strength for something, like Sheila has done a few times during the adventure.

Bradley's ice shattered, that part of this sudden plan didn't work. Zuko's magnesis captures the platform, enveloping it with its orange light, and...the stasis is strong! It's holding it a little too well in place, Zuko adding even more strength onto it, but before that it just moves an inch or two.

At this point Sebastian will feel the cocoon loosening up thanks to Zuko's slashing -- still not letting go, but if he could see what's going outside, he would understand why the malice isn't patching up all Zuko just did: the malice is shrinking, gathering as deep as possible in the pit. It's impossible to read any expressions, given it's...what it is, but these are quite obviously cautious moves. It knows things have gotten really dangerous here.

Sheila's stasis and Zuko's magnetism may have been what saved their lives. Instead of the platform blowing up and slamming against a wall or something...

...once the magnesis wore off, the entire platform flew up in the air upwards, in direction of the opening high in the ceiling.

It happens so fast perhaps nobody will know for sure what happened. One moment they're panicking about what may happen, the next the stasis breaks, almost immediately afterwards there's a truly deafening noise like a hurricane, and the platform moves upwards. Sebastian may be the one to realize something happened...because a whole, hard platform just smacked him as if it was a runaway train. It doesn't kill him but still, that was not a pleasant moment in the slightest. Nothing broken, but that's going to leave him aching for hours.

The platform doesn't fit entirely well with the opening in the ceiling. The platform crashes against the ceiling, and the pressure inside the chamber continues, air gushes out, the platform stays in place. Everybody, all four, are thrown in the air by the sudden stop, flying several meters upwards in the air and falling down on grass that exists on top of Van Medoh.

Beneath them, they can feel some very strong rumbling. It's the pressure, not having anywhere to escape through, wreaking havoc inside the chamber. The malice is the only thing inside there right now. Imagining how enough pressure to obliterate a place can do to such a thing...ugh. But there's no doubt that thing isn't getting out of there.

Some of the evil that infests Van Medoh has been vanquished, and not in a very traditional way. Well, what matters is that it has been vanquished.

What matters is that they're outside. It's still cold, but there's fresh air, and not too far away, they can see Rito Village -- a village set on the walls of a mountain cliff, surrounded by a lake. A safe place! Van Medoh is currently flying in circles around it. Now, you must get off this place.

You can see three different ways to do so.

Perhaps you will glide at it. There are a few gliders there, meant for you to hold on and fly. There even are ropes which you can use to secure yourself first.

Perhaps you will choose that...very large wooden crate. Many, many balloon-like objects are tied onto it. All you would have to do is get into the box, and it would carry you, forming a very bizarre way to leave the divine beast.

Or perhaps you will choose that minecart over there. Curious thing -- it has the same chains of the stasis rune Sheila uses. Looks like it has been held in stasis for a while, and judging by the chains' opacity, it's about to run out. The cart will fly in direction of Rito Village, propelled by inertia.

How you leave Van Medoh...is up to you. What will your entrance back to the hotel be like?

Sheila promptly grabs as many of these boys as she can and starts assisting their asses so they can board the crate. Meanwhile, Sebastian is getting fed all their leftover food to numb his booboos.]

Everyone board the crate!

The crate moves and floats off in direction of Rito Village. Everyone is inside the crate, all gathered together while it peacefully makes its flotation towards a safe place, leaving behind Van Medoh and its many, many puzzles and malice and biting skulls.

Better that way.

A light begins to envelope the horizon. Maybe it's the sunrise, signaling the beginning of a new day.

And before you know it, you find yourself back in the hotel, in quite the strange entrance.
