When Zuko tests the hanger up and puts his hand on it, the hanger moves forward a few inches, pulling from him, and at the same time the color in the levers changes slightly, getting dimmer, turning into a strange, indescribable mixture. Upon testing them, the screens slide a bit before returning to the original point, snapping back into place with a loud click.

It seems merely grabbing the hanger up in the zipline won't be enough to enable the levers, but they're on the right track, that much is clear.

Careful, though -- like Bradley wondered before, it doesn't seem there's any place for a new hanger to appear. Only one passenger and one try!

[ tall rights.... not for zuko. ]

It's fine. I can go. You're hurt.

[ says zuko with at least one of his legs clamped. he can parkour the zipline!!! ]

So we've got to pull them in a certain order. What should we try?

You've got metal on one of yer legs.

[But if that's how he wants to do it, go on! Bradley will pat him on the back, just a bit too hard, and head down to the lever that is currently unoccupied.

He pulls this first.]

There's only so many combos, right?

W-wait, shouldn't we pull them in the order we need to move the screen things out of the way??

[She glances up at Zuko, about to zipline with a roboarm attached to his leg.

Looks at Bradley already pulling his lever.]

... I think it's a little too late for that.

[WELL. She tries the middle lever again. They are doing... something.]

When Bradley and Sheila pull from the levers, and Zuko gets ready for the gliding, the levers they have light up with blue, signaling it's ready -- and when they pull, the screens move! Screeching and moving on the rails, they get out of the way, allowing for a safe flight! Except for Sebastian's, but it probably isn't too late for him yet. However...

If anybody ever has taken a rubber band, stretched to its maximum point, and held it without letting go, they'll feel a similar sensation right now. The levers try to get out of their hands and snap the screens back into position, the mechanisms fighting against their hands, trying to slip out. Hold strong!

Still, the way is clear for now! Best of luck, Zuko!

[She will try her best to hold onto the lever so it doesn't snap back into place. But she also rolled an 11, so.

Good luck, Zuko!]

Zuko is off. Grabbing onto the zipline, the device throws from him, getting him on track. Ahead is the path he will traverse in the air. Fortunately, he's more than strong enough to hold his own weight.

Wings sprout from the sides of the hanger, giving it the appearance of a bird, a bird resembling the mechanical divine beast they're all in right now. For several marvelous seconds, Zuko feels the intensity of the air, at first hitting him mercilessly, but then embracing him, propelling him. He's one with the air, with the wind, like the Ritos are! Tonight Zuko is the ruler of the skies, soaring at speeds he may not be used to, flying majestically above his three CYOA companions.

For one brief moment...Zuko was one with the air.

And then, far less majestically, he crashes into a wooden screen.

The Divine Beast Van Medoh is a marvel of technology. A lot of what's inside it is intricate and beyond what most people see. The zipline is made of a special light, connecting from side to side. The mesh of the screens doesn't interrupt it, meaning the zipline's path is always present, almost as if it was intangible. Zuko and the hanger, though, are very much tangible and don't enjoy such benefit.

The lever in Bradley's hands slips away, the screen slamming back into place with dizzying speed, just in time for Zuko to crash into it facefirst. The screen breaks! Pieces of wood rains down into the walkway, sticks to Zuko, the prickly texture of the wood clinging to his armor, to his hair, and to any uncovered skin. Geez.

Sheila and Sebastian fare better, if slightly. Sheila holds onto the lever for longer, and almost manages to hold it back. If only she had managed to hold it back for half a second longer! But no, it escaped from her hands, Zuko crashing into the metallic edge of the screen, sending him spinning, still hanging for dear life onto the bird-like hanger, spinning like a kite buffeted by the wind, everything is blurry and confusing for Zuko. There's not even a bit of majesty left in this flight.

The final screen, opened by Sebastian, resists the boy's efforts and slams closed before Zuko can land in the chamber. Instead, he crashes into it, but his [11] spares him from breaking through, instead the mesh is dislodged and falls forward into the chamber with him. Zuko lets go of the zipline, the inertia pulling him from there, and he falls down heavily onto the floor of the chamber, on top of the mesh, shattering it then, but at least this time he didn't get another dose of splinters all over himself. It still leaves him bruised, but it could have been worse.

The chamber he arrived is empty and almost featureless. The only object he can see once he recovers from that terrible flight he just experienced is a large crystal in a corner of the room, shining brightly, embedded into the floor. This is it. You have reached your destination, Zuko.

There's a crystal here!

[How far is Zuko from where the rest of the gang is, actually? Because Sheila is high key concerned he might have to jump down.]

When Zuko touches the crystal, it shines brightly, turning the usual blue. The gates at the end of the walkway open up, the bars disappearing into the edges of the gate, allowing everyone to walk by. From the chamber Zuko is in, a stair emerges from the bottom edge of the cube, allowing for a safe descent onto the walkway.

A rousing success, everyone! In...some way. As they say, no pain, no gain, right?
