Well, you summoned me. [it's said in the sort of tone of "well, it's my job."] You had questions?

Yes. I saw that you offer a "dispel effect" power, and I was wondering if I could ask for some details about how it works.

For example... does it only work with the effects of other room service abilities, or could it dispel other effects?

Essentially, it dispels anything that would be considered a curse-type effect. Powers that are like "inflict this on this target." Doesn't have to strictly be a room service power, but it wouldn't say, cancel someone using Who's There? on themselves.

Does that make sense?

I think so. So it won't work on beneficial or neutral effects one uses on themselves?

... I suppose I need to choose something, so... may I order this service? What would I need to do?

Give or take. If it cancelled out everything, then it'd also negate stuff like healing, and that'd suck for everyone involved, wouldn't it?

[a snort, though it doesn't seem to be directed at estelle in particular.]

Do you have the rundown of how room service works, or should I explain the entire thing?

I think I understand the basics. There's a limit of two per person, for the entire duration of our stay... and a limited number that can be ordered weekly and in total. And in order to acquire one, I'll need to complete a task... is that right?

Yup. [popping that p] So if you're sure about Dispel Effect—once I give you the task, you're locked in until either you complete it or it expires after seven days, though even if you complete it ahead of schedule, you're still blocked from requesting room service again until next week.

Well, first things first. Before I give you your task, you gotta explain to me why you want this particular power.

Well... I sometimes use spells like this back home, and they're helpful to have. I don't know what kinds of curses we might encounter in the future, but if there's something seriously causing trouble for somebody, I'd rather be prepared than not.

Your task is this.

Steal an object from two different people and hold onto the stolen object for the duration of the day. You don't have to be sneaky about it, as long as you're not persuading them to let you keep it and they don't manage to get the item back from you until the time is up. You can't tell them it's for a task either.
