The sooner he can find Emet-Selch, the sooner they can rendezvous with Joonghyuk. So he quickly leaves the Actual devil behind to dart ahead, hurrying to where Emet is drawing everyone in the world's attention. ]
[ Security is in fact mad at Emet-Selch. There'll be these masked security guards, very similar to the one at the mansion except dressed in white, kinda running around....... with guns. They're in a goddamn sorcerer world and they use guns here sometimes. It's fine. They're actually horse tranqs, not bullets.
[ Dimitri will be a whole salad by the end of this trip.
Well there's an entire line waiting but it's not very long. I assume you're just going to cut in because fuck them people and because you have security on your tail? ]
[ Yeah, sorry, they're cutting ahead. He does not think the devils care too much about decorum in this case. ]
...Security?
[ He wasn't even aware he needed an invitation to be here, help. That said, he is cutting past everyone with a 'pardon' here and there until they can speak to the devils who are waiting for pairs to take to the cabin. ]
[ In Dimitri's defense, he showed up right into the Blue Night so he didn't have to go through a check at all. Emet-Selch, on the other hand, busted his ass running over here.
But sure, here you are! And the devils will just look at them for a moment, but they clearly don't care about you cutting the line, and possibly even think it's quite funny. They will carry Dimitri by the scruff of his jacket like he's a rat, and Emet-Selch... they look at him like he's an offense, before deciding to go with the Fireman's Carry. You do not get a say in this.
Into the creepy Devil Cabin you go, where you will be greeted by a dim and dark room -- the inside is a lot more spacious than the outside would lead you to believe. It's almost as if the space adjusts to fit you, especially Emet-Selch, since the ceiling becomes plenty tall enough for him. No worries about feeling squished in the cabin or crushing Dimitri here.
There is a long table with two trays, holding what appears to be a metal handle of some kind -- with spikes at the end of it at the end of it.
A devil attendant waits politely. ]
INTO YOUR CHEST NOW, MOVE ALONG. UNLESS YOU'D RATHER HAVE US DO IT FOR YOU?
[ He is ratshaked all the way up to the cabin. Embarrassing. As struggling means he'll have to fall to the ground, he puts up with it with a poorly withheld, sour expression. It is possibly less bad than what Emet-Selch has to deal with, anyway.
But the cabin itself is bad time for them both. He picks up one of the handles for himself, casting a quick glance to Emet-Selch. ]
Is that all right...?
[ Stabbing himself in the chest sounds pretty straightforward, actually. But he gets that it might be like... unpleasant? Might as well check in first. ]
[ Weirdly enough, it doesn't hurt as bad as you'd think it would. The spikes go into your chest, but it feels more like a very uncomfortable prickle, but the fact that you're doing it yourselves probably helps to steel against it and lessen the amount of discomfort you would have experienced.
The weird part begins here, though, as once the handle is firmly in your chest, your chests open like door handles. Censors you both, as it appears it just opens into a creepy chasm of dark red. More importantly, there seems to be a paper inside of you, also dark red in colour. ]
YOUR CONTRACTS... YOU WILL SIGN HIS, AND HE WILL SIGN YOURS. THEN RETURN THE CONTRACTS INSIDE, AND YOUR PARTNERSHIP IS COMPLETE.
[ There are benefits to stabbing yourself instead of letting strangers do it! It's an important lesson. The mild pain barely registers.
It's the rest of this that makes him stagger a bit, hand automatically floating up to the eerie, red cavity that creaks open in his chest, a space that should be full of things like blood and organs, and not paper. He hesitates a moment before he tugs the contract free, handing it to Emet-Selch first. While he doubts he can keep this conversation private, he speaks quietly anyway, in warning. ]
...I do not know what will happen after this.
[ He doesn't know what this means, or what it'll do, but he's not going to quit here to leave Joonghyuk alone, wherever he is. They have to get to him quickly, and they have to leave. He doesn't even read it, like that might shake his resolve, though he'll be patient if Emet wants to look it over.
Wouldn't be the first time a contract screws them over. ]
[ I CENSOR YOUR INSIDES. It does not feel pleasant in any manner of the word, removing the contract nor signing on it. Thank you for your efficient signage, and as you two sign and return the contracts to one another, you feel... different.
There's a passive link between the both of you, and know that you now have some level of control over the other. What he feels, you feel. What you feel, he feels. What the other demands, you will feel compelled -- disrespect it, and the contract will rot you, inside out.
The doors to your ribcage closes, the seams fixing right up as if your literal insides weren't just opened up like a safe door. The handle comes out, and you're left with pinpricks, but the bleeding isn't bad.
You are now partnered.
The devil congratulates your sorcerer marriage with a clap of their hands. ]
WONDERFUL. WE DO LOVE EFFICIENCY. NOW, MISTER DIMITRI... WE ACTUALLY HAVE SOMEONE WAITING FOR YOU, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MEET THEM. WOULD MISTER EMET-SELCH LIKE TO WAIT HERE, OR COME ALONG WITH? PARTNER RIGHTS.
[ This is... EXTREMELY weird. It all feels like a dream, and he tries very hard not to think about what it means as he quickly signs the sorcerer marriage papers.
Because they just have to get out of here. This is how they can meet Joonghyuk, according to one extremely suspicious devil that is his only lead. It unnerves him to know they have no real sense of time passing here—is it nearly dawn, yet?
He grips the fabric at his chest idly, making sure his heart is still beating. The sense of feeling that Emet gets to receive here is determination... with a side of unease. ]
[the unease is absolutely matched. there's some annoyance at all of this, as well... but matching determination too. they just need to do whatever it is they have to take care of, here.]
I do not think we ought to separate, at this juncture. I shall accompany you.
[ And like the VIPs you are, you will be ushered into a door past. Behind you, more pairs of sorcerers come to also get through with their fucked up marriage paperwork. Doesn't matter though, you're moving on.
...Into a dank-ass dark room that is not any more pleasant than anything else you've seen thus far! There's only a single lightbulb in here, and the walls are black, soot-stained. You feel a tingle of that earlier, same nausea. Glance out the window and the outside seems to have become sufficiently dark as well, only the barest lights from the below festival visible. Small spatters of rain hit the pane.
In the room stands a massive, swarthing, masculine figure with a cape of matted fur, dirt, smoke, and blood flattening everything down into a tangled mess that hangs behind it almost like a cape. The... face...? mask...? is almost lionesque, with sabers jutting uneven and ugly from their mouth... though perhaps, with the way they point upwards and curl, they would be better described as boar-like tusks, rather than sabers. One tusk has grown out too far, piercing back into its own skull through an eye; the other, beady and pitch black with a red pupil, stares quiveringly, jittery. Its lower half is partway boar, partway goat, hooved feet clacking on the ground and a thick, devilish tail swinging to and fro. Drool drips unpleasantly from its mouth.
It doesn't speak, but Dimitri will get the feeling that this devil has been waiting for him. However, much like YJH, it will wait for you to politely greet it first. ]
but this is dimitri's meeting, evidently, so emet-selch allows this, lingering behind him, watching. he doesn't draw his blade, but dimitri will be able to feel the tension in him-- he's prepared, should he need to act.]
[ The creature only huffs, looking closely at him. It raises one big ol' clawed paw hand looking thing, pointing at Dimitri's hand. And then it holds out a fist, waiting. Your hand sir.
Emet-Selch can stand there and continue to feel both awkward, but also feel bile rising. Outside, the rain gets heavier and heavier, and the sound of the crowd becomes nonexistent. He is extra sensitive to this, being one of the best mages of his era -- a building headache between his eyes, nausea. ]
[ Don't we all just want to hold hands sometimes? Funnily enough, if Dimitri actually wanted to hold hands it would do that.
But no, it hands Dimitri two things. One is a black note, with something on the front and back.
And another is a piece of paper... you can't read it right now, but it does have something on its back.
Looks rather familiar, doesn't it?
...The lion-boar-esque devil smiles at you a little bit, and taps at the paper -- then breathes, a cloud of black smoke gathering in the room. It steps aside as the smoke gathers, and like Dimitri saw before -- a door will appear behind the devil. It is decorated in black flame, charred bone, and dark iron lances, a lion with boar tusks adorning the top. It has furnishings that are distinctly similar to Dimitri's taste, such as those in his room.
He takes the papers, confused as he looks them over. Its almost easy to forget the hotel until he's handed a stark reminder like this. His confusion is buried under Emet-Selch's discomfort though—this room is clearly affecting him, somehow.
He turns his back on the devil for a moment to shoot him a concerned look, and to show him the papers they've received. ]
Do you've any idea what it can mean...?
[ Is this The Hole?
Meanwhile, the door waits for them to pass through. ]

Have you seen Yoo Joonghyuk? If you've any idea where we are going, I suggest we move now.

shhhh i missed
There is a brief moment of relief at their reunion before he nods, pointing out. The cabin floating in the sky. Which is totally normal and stuff. ]
I was told we could find him if we go through that. Though there is some sort of contract involved...
[ He's so tired of contracts. ]
But I do not think we have enough time to avoid it.
[ He's going to take off towards the cabin! He expects VIP Emet-Selch to follow along. ]
