It felt more like a void than being underground. [ it's pensive. it's fine. and then he's wrinkling his nose ] Yeah. Giant spider. It had a bunch of items in its web and asked us to trade. I guess in exchange for letting us pass?
[ He Doesn't Get It. it was hard to not reflexively try to stab the spider. ]
Sort of. We met up with Clementine and Flayn somehow, and then there were shadows chasing us. We did manage to get back to the hotel doors after that, though.
[ he has no idea. it is a last minute blur. ]
Still wouldn't let us into the lobby directly. We got split up into different parts of the hotel. I wound up in the library with Hope, Zuko and Tsurumaru.
It's always puzzles somehow. It can never be straightforward when it comes to stuff like this. [but he shakes his head.] Regardless, I am glad all of you managed to get back and sign out at the right time. I don't think I'd forgive anybody if one of you got left behind.
Considering the amount of fighting some of you did? It wasn't always a guaranteed thing. [but he says it in a way to suggest that no, he's not that surprised.]
I guess. [there are still some people he only trusts as far as he can throw them, so he'll have to take cloud's word for it.] It doesn't matter anymore. Everyone's checked out, so we just have to wait until tomorrow morning.
We'll manage. I'm not going to let anything happen to him, and I've been to Tartarus before. I have a few friends who will help get us there and it should be pretty much and in and out job.
I don't, really. But someone's out there asking for my help, so I have to go and at least see who it might be. I thought maybe it was a friend of mine who sacrificed himself recently, but...I feel like maybe he's already moved on. There's someone else it could be though. And I won't feel comfortable again until I at least go to look.
Um...sort of. He's a titan that we fought a while ago, but then he became a friend. [he leaves out that it's because percy dunked the titan in the lethe and mindwiped him.] He helped me when I was in Tartarus by myself the first time. And he helped two of my friends. But we left him there and I can't stop thinking that's why someone's calling for me.

[ he thinks about the hole and frowns, looking down at his hand as he scratches at the ground, almost like a test.
hrmmm. let's not think about that. ]
Felt a little closed in, and it messed with Lup's head a bit, but we pushed through. Traded some stuff to a spider.

Jason told me a little about that island. [hole bad. sinking also bad.]
I don't mind the underground, but I know it's not for everyone. This doesn't exactly sound like a choice anyone would've made on their own.
[a pause.] A...spider?

And you couldn't just kill it because...?
[look.]

[ there's a long pause ]
We just had to solve some kind of stupid puzzle.

Thank you, Cloud. I was hoping that'd be the answer. [ACTUALLY CROSSCHECKING. WOW.]

I didn't do anything worth thanking. After how stubborn everyone here was, you really that surprised we'd make totally sure everybody was out?

You going home after this?
no subject
Yes and no. I'm going back, but Will and I have some business to attend to not long after I return. [a pause.] Plus a prophecy to fulfill, I think.
