[ they lean against the counter, and then, by way of explanation; ] Before you ask, I'm not really big on reading your guys's files that much. Got the basics, but I like hearing about it from you.

[His eyes shift away reluctantly before coming back to land on Aquila.]

Not exactly a fan of you guys having files period regardless of whether or not you read them. [He hesitates.] ...You and Grayson would get along. You're both annoying. [Unfortunately, this is said like (affectionate).]

Tim would be able to knock you down a few pegs. [Because they would be so exasperated with him.] Damian... Well, Dick is one of Damian's favorite people even if he won't admit it. You'd think he's funny because he's so particular about everything.

[ they seem to recognize the (affectionate) there which is probably unfortunate.

they listen to all of this, though, and then make a little noise that sounds like a laugh. ] Sounds like a big, happy family, full of my kind of people.

[ so jason was right on in that regard. they probably would like to pick on damian... ] Who's the oldest?

That isn't even all of them technically. There are three girls, too. Most of us are adopted, but some just hang around.

[FAMILY TOO BIG. Found family big. He does not say whether he is or isn't adopted or hanging around. Also, he says this next part like he absolutely doesn't want to admit it:]

[ they tilt their head for a moment, thoughtful. ]

You know what my next is going to be then. Which I know you won't answer probably. Why the hell are you here if that's the case? The same reason we're here?

[ aquila absently presses their thumb against their palm as they talk. ]

Join the club. [The glowing eyes sort of narrow a bit.] A person asking about the Family and saying it sounds like their kind of people doesn't sound like someone asking the devil for all-reaching, unrestrained power.

So what'd the devil do you in for?

[ there's something a little wry in their tone, but, they tilt their head up. ]

It wasn't for all reaching, unrestrained power. It definitely wasn't that. Is that a good enough answer, for now? That's the best I can do.

[He's shopping around, but will not say this.]

Depends on what kind of deal it is, but don't just go around trying to flirt with all of us to get them.

[ that last bit comes out a little deadpan. ]

[He snorts, but it's dry and mostly humorless.]

It's more I don't plan to make a second deal with just anyone. Or for just anything. What kind of deal are you looking for?

You're the one who's supposed to come up with that, not me! I just respond to whatever your weird requests are.

[ they laugh - their wings flutter a bit, and then tuck back in at their back. ] You made a big damn hero one with Aquarius, didn't you?

[God, he truly hates being perceived. His expression kind of thins just slightly.]

Stop being nosy. It wasn't a hero deal. I'm doing my job while also getting a chance to guarantee who I'm here for.

they sigh, and then move to hop up to sit on the front desk, kicking their feet against the side of it.]

Haven't really gotten to make a lot of deals yet, but yeah, I like good ones. I like stuff that's a little flashy. Stuff that's creative. Wanna reward that. [ they kick their heels against the desk again. ] Also like a little good natured chaos.

[He makes a face about the first part. STOP, HIS SAYING.

He watches them get on the desk, tail swaying a little more. He thinks about what he's given in some considering silence.]

I could maybe get behind that. But how is good natured chaos going to fit in the murder mold exactly?

they continue to kick at the desk. ] Iunno, that's not my job to come up with! I guess something like requesting that the staircase turn to a slide at random hours of the day could aid and abet someone doing a ridiculous murder.
