[jason rings the bell. nothing happens.

no, really. nothing happens for a bit, but then without a warning a voice speaks up behind him.]

Jason. Did you need something?

He jerks around because he's a Bat, but he's less startled and more ready to throw down. His shoulders relax.]

Jesus, would you not do that in murder hotel?

[AS IF HE WOULD NOT ALSO BEING DOING THIS SAME THING. He did this already to someone.]

Sorry. [they do not sound particularly sorry. ] But you rang the bell. You must have known I'd show up.

Not behind me like a weirdo.

[Sheesh. He fixes the front of his jacket not unlike a cat grooming because it is embarrassed.]

You old enough to go in the nightclub? Or do we need to go somewhere more tame?

[hehe. ]

Are you even old enough? Thought you were twenty. [stop.] But sure. Let's go to the nightclub.

Shut up. I can get in a nightclub.

[He can’t drink in one, but he will NOT ADMIT THAT. He will lead the way to the Aurora bar!!]

You guys even wander around at all unless we ring you in?

If you insist. [but they will follow! light footsteps, barely audible at all.]

The hotel always has stuff that needs attending to. We wander as we please and take breaks sometimes when you guys aren't bongoing our bells.

Yeah? Don't you guys ever get tired of it? I know you aren't going to say yea or nay, but there's no way you could have just accepted to do this without some kind of arm-wrenching.

I didn't think you actually knew us, Jason. What makes you so sure that's true?

I'm just throwing spaghetti at the wall because none of you won't say anything because of whatever damn NDA you signed.

Maybe I just don't like the idea of about eight people being okay with willingly working a murder hotel, game or not. With hostages? With trauma doors? With some weirdo called Nightman forcing a contract on people?

[A shrug. He ducks into the bar not unlike a young man who has been in plenty of these kinds of places for some strange reason.]

[and they don't interrupt the ranting, following jason into the bar as they let him get it out of his system. ]

For the time being, you may as well call me Switzerland.

[unrecked]

Switzerland? [He laughs, kind of dry.] Okay. No way you can be neutral in this entire situation, but sure.

Switz.

[He takes them to a lil cool table out of the way, motioning across from him as he slouches down into the seat.]

[they will join him at this table, propping their head up with their hand.]

I did say for the time being. Who knows? Maybe the more we get to know each other the more you'll actually believe me. [...] A job is a job, Jason, and jobs have to be done.

[unrecked]

Maybe. [He scrunches his face a bit as he scratches his forehead.] Yeah, yeah. I hear that enough back home. It's like people don't think I've ever had a job.

A lil birdie told me you guys make deals. Are they different than the menus we have in our rooms, or are those the same things?

[guestservices]

I'm not sure your definition of a job fits everyone else's, to be fair.

[hm.] Depends. Why don't you tell me what you're thinking, and we can discuss the possibilities?

[unrecked]

A job is a job. Didn't you say something like that?

[Kinda.]

A little fast, pal. I didn't say I wanted to make one with you. I was just curious if they were the same things. It really depends. You got a forte?

Sure.

[they seem to be debating how to explain this.]

Room service is room service, deals are deals. If you want to make a deal to change something or add something, you can make an appeal and we'll consider it.

[He folds his hands over his stomach and laces his fingers.]

And the catch? What do I have to do for it?

[in an almost dry, bored tone:]

Gotta justify why it would be considered entertaining-the hotel's definition, not mine-and if your explanation's acceptable you'd either have to put in the work yourself or be patient for it to go through the higher ups and come into effect. Depending what you're asking.

[He tips his head back and looks contemplative for a long moment without saying anything.]

Alright. But I'll have to give it some thought. If I add something, does it affect everyone?

[guestservices]

[jason does that and he may get the sense that aquarius is just staring at him quietly.]

Do you think it'd count as entertaining if it only impacted one person?

[unrecked]

Depends on what it is.

[He keeps peering upward, but his eyes shift thoughtfully.]

If it's something you do to one person, but what you make them do impacts other people. Still could be entertaining. [He looks down again finally.] Who're we trying to impress here? Big man upstairs, higher ups, an audience?

What's the criteria for entertainment? Being funny? Being shocking? Being scary?

Have you had a chance to read your contract in full yet?

[unrecked]

Yeah, it says it’s the Host, and it also says it’s fucking murder. But I want to see what you all tell me when I play stupid since apparently there are things happening that’re just stuck under this broad section of the contract even without our personal consent.

“Jason Todd, you signed a contract.” When I tell you not to possess me, that means don’t do it. Find another way to get your rocks off.

[If he sounds like he’s getting angry, he is.]

Now, does it matter what kind? My question still stands.

That God-awful “film” we had to watch was a bad attempt at drama and comedy.

[jason is getting angry, and aquarius seems to be staying as neutral and calm as possible.]

Playing stupid doesn't suit you. [first of all.] I think...the contract does, actually, cover the possession thing, and since you signed it there's no way around that one. As for entertainment, it would have to be something you can justify to be used in the game to...you know, potentially hurt or murder someone. It doesn't mean that'll happen, but the possibility should be there.
