It is more difficult to hold back than it is to go all out. Sparring hones one's control over their strengths, which is important for conserving energy and allocating to other actions. It is how you extend stamina.

anyway, they brawl! joonghyuk might see why cetus warned him, since it's pretty clear they're not normal. they don't react to anything that should cause pain, and though they're holding back to avoid doing any real damage and to level the playing field, joonghyuk can tell that their physical capabilities—strength, endurance, etc.—are superhuman.]
