Is it still impossible to tell us whether there were one shadow or two?

Since the shadows don't tend to confess, it may not be possible, then, to determine how many of the killers who weren't caught were shadows.

...I admit to being rather repulsed by the notion that I am the only one to act on my own.

Hmm. My assumption is, after execution they leave their hosts. But they might find a new one, if they weren't caught.

How would one look into that theory?
