[she wasn't even trying to be rude. she just has a bad personality.]

Working on other things?

I didn't think you were.

[she chews her lip.]

I wonder what I can do to be helpful. I do fear getting it all wrong.

Spending my time trying to condemn to death people who never chose to hurt anyone to begin with.

The alternative, of course, would be to not bother solving it, and adopt the view of someone like a "Bucky Barnes" [she says this disdainfully] that the nuances don't matter. We're all subject to random possession, we're all equally culpable, so the executed party ought to be selected at random as well.

I do think there's sense in this, though of course I can't abide by that because of the risk to myself and those I care for. As well as the sense that the host will not find this entertaining, which is a problem.

All I am saying is that from a moral perspective I'm not sure there's a good argument for sending Clementine to her death because a ghost possessed her. Only a pragmatic argument for doing so.

[she nods at that, softening a little.]

I will try. It is a bit fraught.

It isn't your doing, after all. Don't apologize for it.
