Very well. Just to let you know, before you agree, that also has some conditions.
[ they clear their throat before reciting, businesslike and thorough: ]
In order to form the official agreement, you do have to tell me why you want Simon Says - what those benefits might be. Once the task has been given, you cannot request another power from any of us for the rest of the week. After the week ends, if you have not completed the task, then the agreement is null and void.
You may have already discussed these things with the others, but I find it to be important to lay out the terms officially before you agree.
If you find those terms sufficient, then, I'd like you to inform me why you want the Simon Says power, Miss Nonagesimus.
Very well. Ideally, I would like to end things here with as little bloodshed as will still fulfill the contract. Shall I be able to secure my hostage's life without resorting to murder, this would be preferred. My best advantage in that regard is the hope that there is entertainment to be found, also, in subduing those who attempt to commit crimes. If there were not, why would there be trials at all. Therefore, I intend to do so.
I am aware the power will not be active at trial, but in line with that strategy I believe it has practical value that could be used constructively in aid of that strategy. It is possible there will be times it could be used to deescalate or identify a threat. Incidentally, on the station, I once used a somewhat similar power to prevent a murder from occurring by commanding the potential killer to harm no one. I would not do the same here due to the possibility of this voiding someone else's or my own contract, but it is an example of a practical application.
On the other hand, I would be a fool to ignore the very real possibilities that I will be targeted for murder or that I will determine it necessary to carry one out myself. I cannot be careless about the life of my hostage; the luxury of being precious or overly cautious is not available to me. Thus, a power that would have application in both offensive and defensive contexts, taking into account my physical frailties, mean that strategic use of a power will be all the more important. I could attempt to prevent an attack on myself or avoid physical confrontation in a plan I was carrying out.
To that end, this particular power would be hard to trace precisely how and where it came into play, and I would advertise myself as having a more obvious offensive power. Other abilities that may be more straightforward would also be more obvious, and it is the discretion that is most valuable.
Obviously the particulars will depend on observing how use of such powers is dealt with at trial - I do not yet know how much it will be possible to discern.
[this is the most single harrow thing i've ever read in my entire life.
orion clearly approves of this very thorough answer, though. they make a soft noise, listening attentively to every word she says, and then nod. ]
Your thinking is shrewd. Very well - then, we may consider this the start of your task assignment.
[ orion thinks for a moment.]
...Your task is to allow four people from the hotel, who were not previously at the station, to choose four unique outfits for you to wear that would be considered the opposite of your usual aesthetic. This is the only guidance you're allowed to give them -- you cannot sway their decision in any way, shape or form, or the task will be considered incomplete, and the agreement is null and void.
Once you have received the outfit, you must wear it for an hour. [ in other words, we want to see harrow getting the outfit in one thread/pc, and then wearing it in another pc! these don't have to be complete threads, but they should at least have some substance. ] This goes for each of the four outfits. Once you have completed all four, you may ring my bell, and your room service will be conferred.
Finally, one limit to keep in mind. You cannot inform anyone that this is for a task until after it has been completed, and the power has been conferred. Should you do so before that time, the agreement will also be considered null and void.

And will there be any physical evidence that could be used to confirm which one we took?
no subject
[ they will confirm that with a nod. as for the second... ] Mmm, no, there is not anything that would confirm specifically which.

[ they nod!! ] Each of us has a certain limit. It's best to act quickly, if there's something that you very much desire.

β¦Very well. Fortunately, excluding the station from the persons I can approach does not actually make this task more difficult.
[imagine what molly or lup would choose. However, Orion, you are a rudeass.]

These tasks are not meant to be easy, Miss Nonagesimus, so the assumption of my own might have been your gain.

I did not expect ease, no. Do not think me incapable. It will be done.

I think you'll rise to the challenge. Good luck, Miss Nonagesimus.
[ and once you're done, ooc, come back for another audience so we can complete the exchange! ]
