Bloodsoaked bandages cover his right hand, while the sleeve of his uniform ends roughly at his left shoulder where his arm is missing; in the absence of a tourniquet, blood runs down the stump of his bandaged shoulder and splatters onto the ground without abating.

His face is pale with a slight flush, and a small smear of blood stains his right cheek while his jaw on the opposite side sports what appears to be a bullet graze wound.
