[Curiously, the blood from the crater seems to push past the blood pouring out from both Alphinaud and Clementine's airways. It trickles down their throats, and at first appears to do little good when warmth blooms in their chests as it courses through their bodies. That warmth spreads to their extremities, pushing away the burn of choking and easing the dread of drowning. Blood ceases to pour from their mouths, and they feel . . . just fine, despite probably looking much bloodier on the surface from their respective fits and Souji's urgent efforts to assist them.
Souji's condition, however, remains the same.
Ahead of them, the fog concentrated on the other side of the crater swirls faintly as if disturbed by an unseen force.]
